If ever you want to understand Draymonds impact to a team outside the Warriors, go watch the Olympics. Team started off terrible without him. He comes in, they turn it around instantly. Watch the games. That Gold Medal game KD was the best player, but Draymond's impact was a close second, and he took 0 shots the entire game. Dude was a monster defensively, pushing tempo, initiating offense, etc.

I think there is also an amount of afforded comfortability. I think Dray and Klay aren't at points in their career where if small paycuts mean they can continue to be comfortable with the same coach and culture and get to keep their kids in the same school and Klay can keep sailing his boat under the bay bridge it's worth it. Not everyone is like KD who I think just likes to be in different scenarios and cities every few years. Those AAU bread guys who are just conditioned to change teams every 3 or 4 years.

I think Draymond was the most important player. He’s the leader. He’s the playmaker. He’s the tough guy. He’s the defender. Other than scoring which he did when he was younger in big moments he does everything
@Weshinewegrow Жыл бұрын
We live in a world that runs off of numbers, so it’s hard for people to understand and quantify what Draymond’s worth is to the Warriors and what his worth could be with other teams and I think that’s when you realize how unique and special Draymond is. It’s hard to find egoless guys who play with the level of intensity Draymond plays with virtually every play, sets screens, runs the offense as a point forward of sorts. He literally adding value to your team without demanding a certain amount of shots or touches. He guarding the other teams best player or switching onto 1 through 5 and is bringing a championship pedigree wherever he goes. All this said I think is worth just goes beyond the numbers and his value on the open market will be higher than people think, especially for true contenders.

Quite is kept, him and LeBron got a bunch of joint ventures going on already. Its why they hang out and talk so much. They homies and business partners. And he already has a TNT spot lined up. Contracts with TNT, the Volume, and a few youtube series he has produced, some in combination with James. He will put his communications degree to work and for him, this was probably always the plan. All that era of Warriors players got into investing and venture capital/ start-up stuff. Them court-side seats are full of tech moguls and the owners are VC and Hollywood productions types. Curry went with under armor for a stake in the company. Klay did the same with Anta and for better or worse, China. They all sort of took paths different than the Standard NBA endorsement arrangements for various reasons and built on that. Some of the most sophisticated brand builders since MJ.

I like how there is a massive disconnect between what the fans see vs what coaches, players and execs see when it comes to Draymond. Fans are always like; "Draymond is nothing without the Warriors" Whereas everyone in the league says: "Warriors needed Draymond as much as they need Steph". I'm normally not the type to appeal to authority when it comes to making an argument but in this case, it's laughable that you have fans massively understate and underrate Draymond's importance to the team whereas the league always talks about how much he is needed by the Warriors.

It’s not that easy to wait on them when they are younger. It’s pricer than it was to wait on Steph and the core to grow. The difference is you are forced to give a young player max money before he has earned it. Then have to cut your losses when he regresses and don’t live up to the contract. Warriors panicked into giving Poole that contract. He has HUGE issues. He don’t play defense. Too erratic. His Iq isn’t very high. And he’s does entirely too much goofy shit ALL the time. Sticking with those guys too expensive now unless they are clearly worth the money.
