A suggestion on brush wiping would be scraps from an old cotton t-shirt. I like using t-shirt scraps for glasses wipes because they're soft and lint-free from all the washings, plus smooth so no scratching. Cotton because it minimizes chances for static, t-shirt because the knit fabric means the edges of the scraps don't fray. Plus you can just toss the wipes in the washer and dryer without worrying about ruining them. T-shirt scraps are also nice for use instead of cotton rounds when cleaning the eye area. Thanks so much for this video Alicia, it's a lot of wonderfully useful information. Definitely going to refer to it next time I buy myself some brushes!

I’ve really been needing to up my brush game! As amazing and delicious as these brushes sound, I decided after some serious thought that I can’t support fur farming for my makeup pleasure. So I dug through the Fude Beauty site and found some beautiful looking vegan brushes, and just got myself a little haul 😺 I also purchased the gorgeous brush roll, which just so happened to be on sale, and to top it all off I was able to use your discount code for my order. Even though I can’t do natural hair brushes, your video was incredibly informative in terms of brush shapes, bristle length and density, etc and helped me support the legacy of Japanese artisans who have produced brushes like these for centuries. That will make me smile every time I do my makeup. Thanks gorgeous!!! 💖🇯🇵

WOWZA , this was epic, amazing, fantastic etc, etc. As someone who has only been using natural haired brushes for a few years my understanding of "what is what" is/was fairly limited. I think I just have plated this vid at least 3 times just to make sure I really understood everything you spoke about. I use a goats milk bar of soap to cleanse my brushes (a tip I had learned from Mary, at GlitzyFritzy). It's so very gentle and has little scent if any at all. I can't wait to see the upcoming vids. Oooooo, I'm excited! Love, light and much happiness, 💗💗💗💗

Love my Hindash palette. I don't use face palettes, ever. So I don't buy them, ever. (I love blush palettes but for bronzer, contour, and highlight I dont use palettes, and I never get the "all inclusive face palettes-like that have bronzer, contour, blush, highlighte, etc.) But I can absolutely use the Hindash palette for eyes and face and not feel like I'm missing anything. LOVE it
@MsSavvy93 жыл бұрын
@@carriekup that makes sense. The shades in face palettes are rarely universal even if they have options for depth of color. I thought I missed out on the Hindash palette, but it looks like has partnered with a retailer for increased distribution. 😃 I will have to get one during a sale.

@@MsSavvy9 I hope you love it as much as I do. It's a more firmly pressed but thin formula than I am used to. And if I had just heard a description like that, of Simi-firmly pressed and a thin feeling powder, I would have assumed I wouldn't have liked it. But I truly do love it. And theres enough variation within each pan and just across the palette that I would guess it works for many skin tones as a face palette too. I missed the initial launch, but I caught a restock. I just checked the Hindash website every now and then and saw it was back eventually. Hope you get your hands on it!

I have a question about how the hairs are harvested! I know a lot of squirrel hair comes from Canada, and lord knows we have lots of squirrels, but I don’t see anybody hunting squirrels… same with fox hair, I’ve avoided buying fox hair brushes because I’m concerned about how they are harvested (yes, I care about foxes more than squirrels). I cannot for the life of me find any information on hair source.
@Rain_Reign3 жыл бұрын
I have the same concerns and believe that in these situations it is important for the companies to be transparent about their practices so that consumers understand where their money is going. Because there doesn’t seem to be any info about where makeup brush fur specifically comes from, I think it would be safe to assume that animals like foxes, tanuki, and squirrels are raised to in cages on farms and then killed for their pelts just as is done for wearable fur. It is easy enough to find info about fur farms in general. Most of these farms are in places where they are not well regulated, and have been documented to use extremely unethical and disturbing practices (if you’re someone who believes animals are sentient being worthy of respect, which I am). I have decided for myself that as lovely as these brushes sound, I can’t risk participating in an abusive industry. To make it simple: I would not wear fur so I cannot justify purchasing fur brushes. I do highly value the work of the artisans however, and am going to try to find another way to support their work.

I have this video bookmarked. Thanks for all the useful information on all the types of brushes! So Fude brushes do not last long? Can you get "years" out of them if you take good care of them or eventually, they will not be as good? I'm debating whether to spend lots of $$ on expensive brushes or spend less money and get doubles, so I have a backup.

And here I thought Canadian squirrel was designated by the bristles apologizing if the blend doesn’t work perfectly the first time out. 😉 But seriously, this is so helpful; I’ve been checking out Fude’s site since you recommended it, and find it both inspiring and overwhelming. Your guidance, along with the artisans’ input, really cleared a lot up for me - though next time, if you or they could give me tips on how to convince my wife I need these, that’d be awesome. 😄
