Damn, have been struggling with whether or not I “should” practice more formally or just vibe out and go with the flow. This interview inspired me to deepen my trust in my body and to believe that I can further develop my freedom of expression.

Great point. This video has been eye opening. I have engaged in formal practice for the last 4 years but after seeing this video I’m going to begin engaging in body flow too, let the body lead and the poi follow along for the ride.

I had the pleasure of seeing him perform three years ago in the goa. The perfect body expression of his dragon staff is also impressive. you two are my favorite fire artist!

Most of the poi guys I've seen are kinda scrawny looking, with the exception of Nick W. Has anyone else noticed this?

That’s funny, kinda scrawny. 😆 You must be american. But don’t be fooled by people being skinny. You could say the same about rock climbers, and those dudes are super strong. But to answer your point, getting jacked can lead to inflexibility and lack of movement. A few poi spinners said they were into the gym but once they discovered flow they rolled back from the gym and bulking as their more muscular body was getting in the way of good flow.
