Fuel Filter DIY (Biturbo Ford Ranger 2L Diesel) - Step-by-step service guide

Do it yourself video showing how to replace and service the diesel fuel filter on MY19 onwards Ford Ranger 2.0 bi-turbo.

Skill: Experienced Beginner (you know how to safely change a wheel)
Parts needed:
OEM part number: JB3Z9365A
Tools needed:
1. Container to catch diesel in canister
2. Torx T-30 male bit and ratchet/screwdriver
3. Paper towel / rags
4. Protective disposable gloves
Optional tools:
1. Protective glasses
2. Brake cleaner
3. Non-marking panel removal tool
4. Label making items (eg. tape + marker)

Top work mate. Have had a Ranger Raptor since December 2018 and the fuel filter changes at 30k and 60k were a pain as I couldn't find any info on fuel pipe clips and just flexed the whole top half out the way and changed the filter in the car!!! Just found your video today for the 90k and it made life SO MUCH EASIER well done on an easy to follow step by step

I service and maintain motorsport cars in Vic, not road-based. This is my personal car. Since these cars are new enough to be covered by capped price servicing, there is very little public info on how to maintain them. I’ll add videos/guides as need arises to help others.

Why do certain brands of vehicles use such ridiculous and labour intensive [to service] fuel filters? There are plenty of very convenient and better alternatives such as the Stanadyne type bayonet fitting that is secured by a twist-on plastic collar. There are now many generic copies of that filter type, which means that they are competitively priced and almost unbeatable. There are others of course, including simple screw-on canisters that look like oil filters and are replaced in the same way. None of this faff. It is worth noting that on the current Next Generation Ranger, this filter is located underneath the vehicle and accessed ideally when the Ranger is lifted. It is on the inside of the chassis rail, near the transmission.
