I have replaced my fuel pump twice already and everytime I have to fuel pump runs for about a month and then it stops.Do you know of any possible reasons that the pump is not going through
@2carpros9 жыл бұрын
did you replace the relay as well? It could be causing high resistance which causes premature failure of the pump.
@spearius905910 ай бұрын
After replacing a fuel pump, why would there be a high pitch sound when inside my car? It goes away when i turn my AC on, but the sound comes back after a brief second. (Replaced by an auto shop, and they replaced the filter and did a fuel system clean.)

Your video is not helpful. You did not show removal of the heat shield or what holds the tank in place once the straps are removed. I have watched your clip twice and it looks like this gas tank was removed previously and reinstalled so you can make the removal simpler on the video.

Also my tank is full of fuel when my pump went. I know it doesn't hold much fuel. Can a guy support it with a jack and lower it slowly to get the tank out and drain fuel out the tank while its out into a gas can?
@2carpros8 жыл бұрын
+Steve Dvernichuk Using a floor jack can help you lower the full tank just make sure it doesn't slide of the jack. Yes it will work for your 2003. Please subscribe!
@Glass11177 жыл бұрын
did this exactly the way you did it except my tank was almost full of gas. Now car starts! BUT.. gas gauge reads full when you first start the car then about 30 seconds later drops to E??? please need to figure this out help would be much appreciated. thanks!
@2carpros7 жыл бұрын
It didn't do that before? I'm thinking it may be a defective unit. So the pump works which is great! But the unit that sends a signal to the gauge may be defective. It does happen.
@Glass11177 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks!
@Glass11177 жыл бұрын
2CarPros no b4 I changed the fuel pump and it was working the gas gauge was fine
@BryanG830 Жыл бұрын
Looks like I might have to do this. Cuz OBD2 scanners don't know what they're talking about and neither do mechanics. The dtc code is p0340 faulty camshaft position sensor which supposably shut off fuel pump and spark. But I replaced the camshaft position sensor and still won't start. When my car failed to start p0340 was the code and no buzzing sound from the fuel pump. SO therefore bad fuel pump. Which means p0340 for a 01 cavalier is a bad fuel pump not a bad camshaft position sensor or crankshaft position sensor. Engine won't start. I did try to add fuel additive in it did start but shut off immediately and hasn't started ever since then. And I replace the alternator the starter and the battery as well as the spark plugs. But still car won't start. It's obvious it's a bad fuel pump. I don't have access to that lift you have In the video so changing out the fuel pump and dropping the fuel tank is gonna be a challenge with just a jack and Jack stand.

I just finished installing the pump the find out my fuel filter doesn’t fit the new pump. Is it not the same size connector and if not can someone direct me to one that’ll fit my 2000 Chevy cavalier
