Just had a Chrysler 200 in the shop the other day with 3 out 6 injectors leaking SLOWLY. It was a very intermittent hard start. Took a while to find because the conditions to make it act up was very specific as far as how long you had to let it sit before trying to restart. Too short and not enough leakage too long pressure would go down enough that they wouldn’t leak and what had leaked would’ve evaporated.

John thanks for sharing your experience...we appriciate it.

Low fuel pressure/volume due to a clogged pick up sock or any other leak before that side of the pump will cause low current draw. Low mechanical resistance = low current ... thanks for the comment and thanks to njbrain for the response.

I guess the spike has never really been a problem or they would pulse width modulate the pump to get it spinning to eliminate a high amp spike at start up.

@46:00 I thought all us technicians agreed to never speak of the Quad 4 motor ever again, LOL.

couldn't it be mandated for the car companies to install a port for a analyzer from the factory so your analyzer could just be screwed in a bung?

low amperage because of low fuel pressure? I thought amperage was a result of spring resistance and electrical tolerances? Thats a first, gonna check that one out

48:20 an AC fuel pump ? Looks more like the current waveform of a good DC fuel pump !

If you connect your scope leads on the negative and positive side of the fuel pump and Couple the scope to AC you will get the waveform that is being displayed. Thank you for watching... If you have not already subscribed to our tstseminars KZbin channel please do so. Have a great day
