Excellent video that managed to get me out of trouble. I took the tank off a month ago and because of the cold weather I didn't put it back until today. After installing it, i found a cable with a single left over and I wasn't sure if it was for an accessory or a connection on the tank. The Ducati documentation didn't help, but your video identified all the connections you removed and I realised my spare cable was the ground for the tank. My new bike is coming tomorrow and I was in a rush to get the Monster back together as it is being part exchanged. Thanks for making this very useful video 🙏

Hé Graham, how nice that I could help with the video. and it's great that you share the value for you personally with me. That seriously motivates to keep making videos. The monster has been exchanged you say! What's the new love?

You should make more How To videos of the M1200. How about next replacing the battery.

Thanks. I’ll consider it. Last thing I did was changing the oil. Is that something interesting?

Great video! Any idea of the process is similar for a Monster 797? I'm not finding a video for that particular model.
@DucatiEch2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment. I think it will be a similar process. You may be able to get some information from the exploded view of the parts. I looked it up on this website. www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/ducati-parts/2018-monster-797-eu-motorcycles/fuel-tank Maybe this is of some use to you. Good luck with your 797!

Regarding overflow drains, how you distinguish between water and fuel one? or it doesn't really matter
@DucatiEch2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, thanks for your message. It's nice to hear that it is informative added value for someone else. I don't think there is any difference in the drains. Size is the same and the location under the motorcycle is about the same. For me, one was just a bit longer than the other, which is handy in itself, because the space to put them back on is limited. Thinking about replacing your tank?

Thank you for your reply! I want to take it off and send it to a local shop for fresh repaint. Maybe doing a dual-color like Monster 1200s anniversario . :) Cheers from Milano!

Nice video. If you have fuel in the tank does any leak when you remove the quick disconnects?
@DucatiEch10 ай бұрын
I think if you keep the tank straight, there will be little leakage. To be on the safe side, could you empty it completely with a self-made drain?
@avrc92852 жыл бұрын
hi, can you tell me how much it cost approximately to buy, i might need to do something similar
@DucatiEch2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for your comment and question. I bought the tank on ebay. This one was not new and cost about €500. I was able to sell the old tank with a dent for about €100. Good luck, should you start your project!

It was indeed not very difficult. Just at ease, I think a few hours to run it. Exact time I don't know.

trying to remove my tank, your two front rubber hoses are way longer than mine, my hoses only allow me to lift the rear of the tank up 6 inches, alot of fecking swearing!
@DucatiEch2 жыл бұрын
Oh my, that's annoying. Can't you give the hoses more space by working them up from the bottom? They hang about 10cm from the bottom outside the frame for me.
