2:21 Tentapillars attacking from distance - yep, this was always in the game. I recall a much older video (probably Joeshmocoolstuff) spamming the tentapillar with blow darts and having a similar "oh sh!t" moment. :D

@@helicalpuma: I deff agree that would be very entertaining. I have a preference of how to play, like avoiding summer on the surface etc. I like to join friends, experienced & inexperienced from start or early game and follow their plan & ideas. It's a fun dynamic, and a good learning experience IMO & forces me to play in ways I wouldn't normally as a solo player. Some really entertaining streams or playthroughs are a group effort. Maybe you could do an occasional play through with Jazz & Doni & a few others too.

That was such an epic atrium find. You were probably close to the max teleport distance at that spot in the labyrinth. Really glad you didn't need to backtrack and find the right tentapillar, that can cost so much time combing all the cave biomes. Absolutely exquisite FW fight; you do such a great job at keeping the woven shadows off him. Can't tell you how many times I've stunned myself in the snare with the Weather pain. It's amazing how big of a penalty Walter takes from getting hit just once in this fight, but I actually think you made the right call with the BQ crown instead of the Pioneer hat. Even though you lost a lot more sanity when you did get hit, I'd wager you more than made up for that penalty with the passive sanity recovery from the crown. Though, I definitely would have gone for a thule suit instead of a mag; don't typically find myself needing the extra speed all that much in this fight.

Hey Helicapula! I really enjoyed this series, keep up the good work :) Btw, I'd like to know who is your favourite character in DST? Mine is Woodie by a large margin, he is a really good (and cheap) generalist. If you feel like it, I recommend you do a ruins rush with Woodie with no armor. Ofc it's only a challange, nothing practical :D

I think the patch they made to Walter where sanity items actually decrease his sanity was whack. I think that at least made him more balanced and less fragile, giving you some wiggle room.

Probably difficult for Klei to balance because of all the possible slingshot cheese.

I don't really believe in tier lists for the dst characters. But if I'm ranking the characters on their difficulty to complete a run like this one, I'd put Walter at B.

Is this a visual bug and you still couldn't teleport? Or did you just miss it? Also, will you ever complete the maxwell playthrough, I really enjoyed it and miss it.

@@DivyeshVartha Haven't really thought about that. That Maxwell playthrough was also a learning one just like this one. I haven't played either of them since finishing the playthroughs. But I think Maxwell would be a really great start if base building was my priority.

i think you should've gone for thulecite crown + magi since Walter can already ignore the insanity aura, you didn't really need the BQ crown for the fight

Yeah that was possible too. Although the bee crown will still result in positive sanity for Walter. I feel like it shouldn't since he doesn't get the negative aura. So I don't know why he gets the positive aura when it is reversed, but he does.

If you stay in the caves during summer you will not overheat. I don't need an ice flingo if I stay in the caves or in the oasis during summer.

You can cheese him without anything, or just use the void to line it up right. The pillar is purely used to make it easier.

It won't allow you even if it says telepoof. You still have to be within a certain distance.

Hold down F if it's safe to go for another attack. You can hit them from a distance as they reappear.
