All that's needed is Lidl, a Costco, an Aldi, a McDonalds, a Burger King, a Weatherspoons....the price for advancement and the character and escape of this unique and special island will be lost gradually. Hopefully, the planners on the Canaries will be very judicious in granting permission in coming decades otherwise this island will turn into one big shopping centre. On a different note, it's lovely to have you back JP sauce!

Great to see a video log from you. Thanks. The Lidl looks to be an exact copy of the large one in Lanzarote . Ivor Cummins promotes the type of diet you are doing. It is supposed to be very good. I should try it! The fasting sounds hard as I like good food. Take care

I think Lidl have found a brand that works and sticks with it. The intermittent fasting is the bit I find easy as I am normally up a few hours before I eat anything and then don't normally eat after dinner anyway. Thanks for watching John.

Hi John and Sue, your vlog is more upbeat than your previous ones, maybe it is the new diet or the new Lidl’s opening. Your garden looks great after the make over. At the time of writing this comment the weather here in South Devon is wet and windy all day. I really would like to get back to Fuerte having seen the sunshine at El Costello. Can’t wait for life to get back to normal so all of us can travel without the worry of traffic light systems going green to amber. I wish I had your courage to up sticks in the UK and move out to Furteventura.. The quality of life there is so much better than here in the UK. Thanks for taking time to vlog again. It is like meeting an old friend again, no reference to your age, just the time I have known you through your vlogs.

Incredibly we had rain two nights running this week but at least we never have those lovely two days or more of constant rain here. We just need to plant some more things in the garden - the only trouble is that Oscar often digs them straight up again as soon as our back is turned. Spiky cactii normally stops that though. I assume that you don't know where the Mercadona supermarket is then Elizabeth as I showed it in the video. It is on the outskirts of Corralejo in the Geafond area that backs on to the dunes. If you know where Nico's Belgian Beer House is then you take the road opposite and keep going up the hill.

Good bit of maintenance done on the house and garden, John. Looking good. I got Tinto a leg of lamb one time for his birthday and never again. I couldn't go near him like he was possessed lol. Great wee update. 👍🍻

A whole leg of lamb! Perhaps I am not the only daft one. 🙂 I assume he didn't have the bone too - lamb bones are very dangerous. My Dad's dog died after eating one as it splintered and punctured her intestines. Thanks for watching Stevie.

Skip that size is about £300 ish. It looks like a 15 yarder which is a bit of an uncommon size here. An 8 yard builders skip is £180-£190 ish. 30 yarder £600.

Hi J.P. This may be helpful with your diet. I’m also on a no/low carbohydrate diet in the U.K. Lidil bake sourdough bread. Which is low in sugar and is supposed to be suitable for people on no /low carb diets. Your lidil May do the same. Might be helpful in the mine field of finding no carb food. Thanks for sharing

First used that Mercadona whilst staying at the Bahia Azul villas just up the road. Each time we went back and stayed at various other locations in the town we still used that Mercadona. Great to see it's got some competition! Great to see you back JP, and you sound more relaxed :)

@@JPinFuerteventura I've just started the fast 800 diet..... After 3 days its got alot easier, been 2 weeks now, but you don't realise how many things are high in carbs!!! Basically living off chicken, fish, eggs and lots of veg and salad :( Working though! Loosing 1lb per day on average!

@@robwood7175 @Michael Bower I have lost 1.5 stone (10kgs) in 3 months. I seemed to get stuck then and didn't lose any more, despite never cheating. I am slowly coming off of it and monitoring my weight. The hardest part for me, as a fruit addict, was not being able to eat nectarines, plums, apples, oranges, peaches etc. I ate blueberries and strawberries which were allowed but did miss the rest.
