I think they get their friend to sign up, this is a TV show where people sign up to be hunted, they arnt criminals it anything just normal people volunteering. So I think to get over the cameraman aspect they work in pairs and one has to have a camera

James Lewis it's not a massive camera, it's someone dressed in ordinary clothes with a small concealed camera. They often follow moderately behind as to not arouse suspicion

The camera crews aren't permitted to communicate with the base camps...... That would sound like a reasonable condition to me. Just like "Survivor" and "Naked and Afraid", the camera crews are given very limited access to the daily lives of the contestants. Of course they are filming the contestants 24/7, but with Survivor they're not allowed to talk to the contestants, and with Naked and Afraid the only assistance they are allowed to bring is life saving assistance only. With Survivor the camera crews are probably told to communicate with the camera camp in case they see the contestants cheating (clearly violating the rules) but if the contestants can manipulate the rules (so as to fake out the other contestants) the camera crews are not allowed to identify that manipulation to anyone until after the tribal council for that episode has already occurred.

I get the feeling is NOT to show the public the fugitives being captured, but to show the public the futility of trying to go off grid, and how you can be tracked. This shows just what the government means by 'FREE COUNTRY". CCTV, ANPR, Helicopters and people with cameras in unmarked cars checking people out. Oh yes, free indeed.
