FUGU Gets Sapphire! | Citizen Promaster 3RD GENERATION FUGU 200m Automatic Diver Unbox & Review

The slightly bigger case size @ 44mm and sapphire are very welcome additions to the FUGU lineup and that softer strap feels great! These will be tricky to find, especially the Full Lume NY0119-19X, so snap yours up as soon as you can!
1. For the Fully Lumed NY0119-19X expect to pay around $500.00(US)before tax.
2. For the other three: NY0118-11A, NY0111-11E and NY0110-13E expect to pay around $400.00(US)before tax.
3. I incorrectly stated in the video that the 8203 has about 40hrs of power reserve. It actually has about 45hrs.
Remember guys these are only available in the Asian markets of: Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan region, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, Philippines and Cambodia. So if you want one you'll need to find a dealer in one of those areas.

I like the 44mm size, but a 44mm case with a 20mm strap I don't like. With a bigger watch the strap needs to match, at least a 22mm.

I find with white dials they don't always look like they'd work aesthetically on videos, maybe because the distortion of having an up-close wrist shot makes them look even bigger on wrist... but often they look much better in person. It also depends on the tone, the size of the dial and the execution of the hands and indices. So many nuances with white!

I have the 42mm full lume. the lume isn't as long lasting as Seiko's but after a good charge, it does look radioactive. I can't believe Citizen went the way of 44mm instead of downsizing to 40mm. Come on man, Seiko finally got it with the new 40mm releases. Time for all watch manufacturers to downsize! The era of Tuna Can Watches is over!

I agree with all this...if this was a 40 mm, I would be in. Now, I'm considering the full-lume Islander, though I believe that's 42 mm. If there's a full-lume 40 mm, I have yet to find it. ETA: Just adjusted my online search...Deep Blue and maybe others have a full-lume 40 mm if you can find one.

Where I stay (Malaysia), the original 42mm is not very likeable. Mostly complained too small. 43 or 44mm is a norm and more likeable size here😄

You don't seem to realise that bigger watches look small on big wrists? This isn't ome size fits all. Look at the guy in the video, he has a 6.5" wrist and these Citizens don't look big at all. I have an 8.5" wrist and have to buy big watches or else they look like I'm wearing a mid-size or even a lady's watch! 44mm watches on me look like a 39mm watch on a regular sized wrist.

I have the entire 1st gen Fugu's except the Thailand ver. & I like the fact they sent an un-advertised key chain cause I also got a pin, sticker and some other stuff I can't remember. This can be used to verify authenticity if needed. The case is sweet and upscaled for the adventurous types, those proportions seem correct, differences are the bezel looks wider and has an even more pronounced puffer Fugu effect visually IMO

Nice video, with some great camera work and macro, appreciated the good narration. I just bought (in the post as we speak) the 4th Gen Citizen Pugu NY0138-14X full-lume dial, Miyota 8024 Cal 100% hack (crown winding - stop second hand) satin black IP case looks sweet in images. I'm swapping out the strap for an "engineers" style black IP bracelet. My second full-lume dial, my first being an _Aeromatic 1912_ Pilots watch. Nice "German" watch, truth being its _assembled_ in Germany with a Chinese Ebauch movement.

For me and my 8.5" wrist 46-48mm watches are my sweetspot. I dislike all these 44mm watches that wear small. Seriously, these new Citizens wear like a 42mm watch and the old NY0040s wore like 40mm watches! You midsize guys have a TON of options. We big wristed guys have to spend more money.

I love fully lumed watches! They can’t be beat for night time visibility. I’ve wondered how hard that eight o’clock crown is to operate if you are right handed? Seems very awkward to me. I understand they are more convenient for the lefties if the world but has to be off-putting to right handed folks. Great video as always Maverick! Keep up the good work!!!

I can’t speak for all watch owners, but I have a hell of a time trying to use even a 3-o’clock or 4-o’clock crown when it’s on my wrist (especially if it’s screwdown - forget it!). So I would not mind the 8-o’clock even as a righty!

Although 44mm isn't my preferred size, I can see that the change now matches this variant to the existing 44mm BNE0150 ecodrive line of divers - which are very popular. Thus, they now have a somehwat matching range, with either ecodrive or auto movements. Note also that the 44 will actually wear somewhat smaller due to the rolled top edge of the bezel.

I hate when these established brands add sapphire and then double the price... Microbrand and Chinese brands have been using sapphire at much lower prices so we know sapphire doesn't add that much to the price

great at describing the differences between the different series. I also have the NY0040 full lume (also the black dial, which I probably like better, even if I like both). The full lume of the 11 series looks like it has much more legible hands. My criticism of the 0040 full lume is that the hands are not very legible in the dark, as the lume on them blends with the dial. The 11 series has more outlined and defined hands and the red outline on the minute hand makes it way more legible. Why do you keep both full-lume versions?

Which gen is the titanium cased NY0100 technically? Or is it its own? I just got mine a couple of days ago and it has the 8204 movement (hacks) - it is marked on the dial and on the little paper label also.

I doubt it, as Strapcode don't make end links to suit as far as I know. However, there is an option to go for straight ends on most Strapcode bracelets.

the bezel is smaller than the case. I have the NY0040, it looks smaller than the 42mm it is. the case is kinda cushioned. If the bezel was wide as the case, then it would look that size
