a recording test will run the battery down faster. In this case the fan will have less impact on battery performance since the camera will use up the battery faster for other tasks and the fan won’t have to cool for as long a period of time. The fan battery drain is low enough that throwing in an extra battery will be more than enough to handle it, and guessing for most that won’t even be necessary.
