I have one of these, it’s a great little camera. Some of the battery door lugs on mine broke off & the door wouldn’t close properly so the batteries wouldn’t make correct contact. I found this brilliant TrollForge repair online and followed it to the letter. It worked a treat and I have my camera fully working again. I am very grateful for this video of the repair which guided me through the whole repair process.

If due to circumstance you need to try something else, I have had some success with Nikon Coolpix by heating a large paper clip with a cooking torch. This I used to melt holes. Then I fashioned a hook from a piece of another paper clip. I like this fix though. Thank you for sharing. Now that I have this exact camera I have the repair to do all over again. This weak battery door catch problem is universal. It is pretty sneaky of camera makers to have this. The camera makers have the metal contact that they could have shaped to catch the door but they didn't because they wanted it to break.

Thanks, yes that would work. This was 4 years ago, I've already handed it off to another KZbinr, and I will assume it is still working for him , as he hasn't mentioned needing to do anything more to it.

Massive camera shake, unclear what he is trying to do,a self-tapping screw should fit into the drilled hole.

I didn't know that they made self-tapping screws in #4, I googled it and they do, but that would have meant a 3 hr drive to a specialty store for 1 screw...
