Great explainer vid . . . . having professionally used both systems extensively, and now owning one of them, I concur with almost everything you say as both positives and negatives - except for 2 things (with some personal perspective as a fellow professional fashion/beauty shooter): 1.) Fuji Color science: I can relate to you having issues getting the "look" you like out of the GFX 100 II; but what I rarely see discussed - which makes me think most users don't take the time do this - is setting up color profiles/presets in your native software of choice (PS, LR, C1). I use C1Pro, and when I first purchase a new camera body, I shoot test frames in my usual shooting conditions (outdoors/with and without sun/with strobes, studio natural light/with strobe/LED constants), then use those test frames to build very controlled color profiles as presets. It usually takes me 30-45mins per profile to nitpick over and fine-tune. I then use these presets upon import or when tethered, and this get's me 90% of the way to my "look." Prior to doing this, when I would just white balance off a color checker and make adjustments by eye, achieving my "look" in post would become really frustrating if the SOOC color wouldn't match my taste (which, for most any camera, rarely does). Taking the time to create profiled presets around my preferred color science saves a TON of time and headache, and keeps things consistent. Retouch and final color grade come easy after that, and keeps my "look" consistent as well. 2.) Hasselblad Color Science: I also agree, the SOOC DJI (yes, DJI - not Hassy) colors are really nice . . . but not perfect. They're way too magenta, with some cyan-green tint in the shadows, and these files take a fair amount of tweaking . . . especially for skintones in shadow. Again, spending the time to develop one's own color profiles/presets is a game changer (hate that term), or even a life-changer. In a nutshell, after shooting both systems across 5-6 shoots each, I chose the GFX 100 II: less expensive, better eye tracking, vertical grip for extended shooting/vertical comfort, solid lens lineup, weirdly faster tethered support, robust build on location. The DJI/Hassy is awesome, GAS is real (like you mention), and I doubted for a minute whether I made the right choice after sending the DJI/Hassy back . . . but in hindsight, and after many more shoots, I don't miss the overly expensive DJI/Hassy at all. Glad you found something you're finally comfortable with, and hope you take the time to make your own profiles and save yourself a ton of color science frustration in the future. ;-)

@@WILMORENO Yeah, so many ppl ready to throw down over a camera choice! - and like you said, most haven't owned either LOL I also agree, that GF110MM is some sort of magic glass . . . easily also my favorite, too . . . .it joins the Pantheon of "incredible portrait glass that has secret sauce from another planet" (which, for me, also includes Nikon's first 85mm f/1.4 G, the Bronica 150mm F/4 Zenzanon-PG, and Fujinon 250mm f/6.3). I also found that, with the GF110mm, creating a color profile preset around this lens/GFX 100 II combo came quickly. I also second your hindsight revelation that the GFX might not be the best for landscapes; but that's really only if one has had a chance to use and compare both camera image files like you and I. I surely miss hiking with the X2D II, vs the GFX! hahaha Keep doing you man, your vids and relevant experience are great. Maybe it won't be another 5mos until the next one? ;-)

I was looking at Hasselblad and heard about how the colors are so nice SOOC but I chose the GFX100 II because for me it's a way better camera. I don't have problems with color at all in fact the colors are beautiful! The main reasons I chose the GFX system are: 1. I can put the GFX in BW mode meaning I can view on the EVF what the scene will look like in BW. I was surprised Hasselblad doesn't offer that. 2. Eye-tracking. Hasselblad has face tracking but not eye tracking and if any of you shoot portraits in low light or with a shallow DOF this is a huge plus. 3. Tilt-Adapter - if you know what it is and have used one you understand. 4. Film simulations. I didn't think I would like them - I only shoot RAW but I really do like them. It's like having different rolls of film in the camera. I have to admit I dislike the Sepia one though. ;( I use Broncolor strobes and they have "HS" which is different from "HSS" technology. With Broncolor's HS technology no power degradation happens unlike HSS. I think Elinchrom also has "HS" technology.

Ok, you have a good experience with your GFX100 (and obviously you need to justify your choice to yourself and the rest of the world ;o). I am sincerely glad it works for you... but it may not be enough to make a comparison (for this you need at least two protagonists/experiences). You are comparing your GFX to... nothing else you have used in the same way and declare the GFX a winner... amusing, to say the least.

I went from the GFX system to the Hassy and never looked back, but there is one area where I am really tempted by the Fuji and that is tilt/shift lenses. The new 30mm and 110mm TS lenses look insane for landscape and architecture. You can adapt certain TS lenses to the Hassy system or try the HTS adapter but they are suboptimal solutions. Otherwise the X2D is my favorite camera of all time, and the new 90v lens is incredible.

You can actually get a faster flash sync speed with the GFX! Although you have to use Fuji's H to GF adapter and either Hasselblad or Fujinon H mount lenses which allow you to use the leaf shutter. I was considering selling my X2D AND R5C to get ONLY the GFX100ii. But I really don’t think I’d be happy. Yes it’s still 100mp but I just LOVE the images I get out of the Hasselblad. I BARELY do anything to them in Phocus 2 on my iPad. They are just THAT good. I’ve owned Fuji’s in the past and had to use specific capture one for Fuji and yes images were ok but a bit off. Yea I could sell both systems and get the GFX and probably pocket a few 1000$ but every time I shoot the X2D I forget about anything else.

So I’m a GFX user for 5 years, I know the color thing going on and it affects me, but for the rest I’m quite happy with it. My question to you is what software are you using to process these two systems? I use camera raw, some people use Capture One which nails the color better than CR. But Hasselblad has Pocus which is great for colors but doesn’t work for anything else so you have to go through two different software to get things done.

I've been using light room classic for approx 10 years now. I just stick with that. Phocus isn't my favorite, I should probably spend more time using it. The FUJI portraits came out much nicer with the passport color checker sensor calibration. I went back and applied that color space and was pleasantly surprised. The landscapes were still consistently below standard. I feel like I need to go back to the grand canyon with the X2D and redo everything. I just got back from Maui this week, putting the video together now. The X2D is such a better camera for fine art photography. Still need to do some proper portrait tests. Just waiting on the weather to get nicer here. Thank you for watching and commenting.

That's the thing about Hasselblads that even tho the process of taking pics is simpler the post is more complex. Also the newer XCD lenses are essentially full frame lenses adapted to MF sensor. Horrible vignetting that sacrifices corner dynamic range. GF glass is big and ugly but it's a league above the new XCD glass so when someone talks about better IQ from the Hasselblad I SMH. And then you ask them what is this X factor they talk about, they struggle to explain it. Talk about the Halo effect.

Hello Will. Thank you for this EXCELLENT comparison of the X2D and the Fuji GFX 100 II. As a Nikon Z System landscape, product and macro photographer, I have been quite satisfied with the image sharpness and detail I obtain from the Nikon Z System (Z7, Z8 and several lenses). However, as I do on occasion produce very large prints *30"x40" and up), I've always had an interest in medium format. So, in your opinion, do you feel that the X2D with, say, the Hasselblad 120/3.5 XCD Macro lens would give me a very substantial improvement in image quality (particularly image sharpness and detail rendition) in the large prints, over either the Fuji or my Nikon Z System? (Also, as I don’t shoot video, that’s another reason the X2D appeals to me, as well as the NCS of the Hasselblad files, since I’m somewhat colorblind, and it sounds like color-correcting the Fuji files would be a nightmare for me in particular!) Thank you sir!

Thank you very much for commenting and subscribing. I had a d610 and 90mm macro lens a while back. Though I wouldn't call the jump substantial, it was noticeable. If you're considering upgrading, the x2d would be a solid gamble. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised Also, b&h + adorama have excellent return policies :)

I also found I have no problem stopping down with strobes outside, and if want bokeh I’ll just get rid of the strobe and work natural light. Bokeh isn’t really worth the need for filters, overrated to me. If I want 250 I’ll just use my a7rv I always have on me. Think the hassy does look slightly better, might be the glass. My best friend has the x2d and the I have the 100s. We both have the 120 macros, I have the 80 and 35-70. He has the 55 hassy lens. We both shoot tethered and together a lot. Pretty damn close. Both make the a7rv look cheap, and I’d you want horrible color compare the Sony to either one of those. But having the fuj has helped me get the Sony colors closer to where I want. Not too much of a difference between the hassy and Fuji, and the focus of the hassy isn’t that bad with the touch compared to the eye focus on the 100s. Just seems to be a choice between if you want to pay a fortune for hassleblad glass or not . Sorry for the rant, been a big change the last few months 😂 I bought the ‘broke ibis’ 100s off eBay for $2200 and like I figured the ibis wasn’t broke the seller just was using adapted glass. Hi Matt, HSS is not comparable to the "X-sync + central shutter" solution. I have been using a Profoto Pro B2 generator, 1200 ws for 15 years and have taken thousands of outdoor shots. I can shoot for example at 1/800, f/5.6 and 1200 ws in Ibiza or Saint-Tropez, sun at its zenith in June. Totally impossible with HSS: there is no 1200 ws HSS generator, and with a 500 ws HSS flash for example, you will lose 1 EV each time you divide the exposure time by 2. Which brings the 500 ws to an equivalent of 125 usable ws. We are missing more than 3 EV of energy on the flash, or 8 times more energy. HSS is more of a gadget than a real professional tool. It's not for nothing that Hasselblad still makes central shutter lenses... Moreover, they are optically far superior to the Fuji GFX, especially the very latest XCD "V" range which are really impressive lenses, very close to the Hasselblad "H" I didn't understand the link between bokeh and central shutter.

Had the same issue in terms of colours. As a non professional trying to get the colours right is my worst skill as a photographer. Got the gfx 100s but sold it within the week. There is this slight yellowish green tint. And it get worst with some non native lens. Edit the colours was a headache for me given my editing skill level. That’s not to say it can’t be done as I’ve seen really good edits to correct the colours to look really life like. Later bought the X2D. SOOC the colours are perfect. Sadly with its then firmware it was not super usable given I have a super active toddler. Sold it and went back to Leica SL2. Colours were great but not to the level of hasselblad. Much more usable but leaving the medium format system left a void in me craving for that amazing detail you get when you look at the raw files. The moment the new FW was out I decided to return. This time it was so much usable. The only other thing I wish was that capture one would support hasselblad files but that’s likely never gonna happen so LR it is.

I'm glad others are seeing this too. I often got good colors in the Fuji, but kept running into instances where it failed, miserably. Unacceptable in that price range imo. And yeah that void for incredible IQ is haunting.

I feel the same way about Fuji gfx100II. Colors are terrible. Particularly over saturated reds and magentas in the skin tones. Thanks for the video. It is hard to find an X2D and GFX 100 II comparison video from people who have used both for a while. Matt Granger (who I love) did one, but he didn't really give his preference and why. Me I was in the GFX 100 camp for many years, and the colors are nice, but when I got my hands on a used X2D Lightweight Portrait Kit from BH last summer, I never looked back. What did it for me was primarily the colors, the feel of the camera (quality), the simplicity of the menu system, and that gorgeous 3.6-inch screen. The GFX100xx has much better AF, but I primarily shoot static subjects. The only downside of the Hassy X system is the lens cost, but there is an argument to be made if they are worth it; in most cases, I'd say yes. My 4 favorite lenses are the 45P, 38V, 80 1.9, and the 35-75. I am not going to lie; I was itching to try the GX 100 II just out of curiosity, but when I looked at my old files from the GFX100S and my X2D, the X2D just looked a bit richer, which I was able to achieve with very little post. Seeing your quick summary for the GFX 100 II and why you sold it, I would have done the same and sourced another X2D, which is getting harder to find on the used market. They are both terrific cameras; you can't go wrong with either one. Overall, I think GFX100 II is the better camera, but for my style of shooting, the X2D with the 38V, 45P, and 80 1.9 is a hard combination to beat for static and not-so-fast-moving subjects. Your video confirmed my thoughts and saved me a lot of money. Great video, and I just became a subscriber!

When I saw the gfx100ii announcement, I just jumped right in. There was a 50/50 chance it would be the right move. Oh well lol $$$

Hope your "new" X2D works out for you. If you ever have to get things serviced though, Hasselblad might drive you mad. I sent in my 35-75 about a week before your X2D video went up and... well, here we are 3 months later and all I have is: "We'll provide you with an update once we have a response (from their factor in Japan)". And not to mention that this is the second time I've sent in the lens and the first time took nine months without the issue being resolved. Hilariously enough I was able to self-diagnose the problem thanks to my X2D purchase. The lens was always doing a double exposure which would have been impossible to see on a steady workbench and too difficult to discern that particular cause with 50 megapickles. So, yeah, it's over there in Japan again and I'm still waiting... It's a system that puts out results, but I sure do hope that you have a long-term backup. As a hobbyist, I can sit for a while.
@WILMORENO11 ай бұрын
Hate to hear that. That's another common theme; Hasselblads sub-par customer service. They sent it back the first time and it was still defective? Could you do me a favor and give an update when you hear back from them? The 35-75 is my only lens so, that's not good news. Do you know how many clicks were on the shutter? I read somewhere they're rated to last 500,000 actuations. Hobbyist as well, no current backup...I'd probably just buy that 28, or the 45p if I needed to send my zoom off.

These two cameras are not comparable. Hasselblad is much better for colors, the lenses are of much better quality to say the least, the lenses are all central shutter which allows flash sync up to 1/4000th for XCD lenses. The X2D allows to use Hasselblad H lenses with central shutter and flash sync up to 1/800th (which is their normal exposure time). The Fuji only shutters up to 1/125th and has a focal plane shutter, while the X2D (like other Hasselblad cameras) does not have an integrated shutter. Not to mention the very nice "tiltable" screen allowing the viewfinder at chest height and the integrated storage of 1 TB and the quality of the finish of the body and lenses, and the superb integrated software (which all camera manufacturers should take inspiration from). There is certainly a price difference but it is totally justified and we are not playing in the same league ;)

@photographiezautrement3 ай бұрын
@@WILMORENO Ho sorry, this message was initially for David @davidpalermo4695 Talking about the shutter speed synchro flash, I've been using Hasselblad H every day for years (H5D-60), and therefore flash sync at 1/800. At this point I would say that the 1/4000 vs 1/800th is "a detail". What I meant by talking about the flash is that the 1/125 in x-sync of the Fuji is so limited that it is almost unusable outdoor (as we saw in your video). Even with a sync limited "only" to 1/800th of a second, you can shoot in full summer sunlight and have 1200 ws usable (with for example a Profoto Pro b2, Pro b3 or Pro b4 generator). In Ibiza in June, 1200 Ws and the 1/800th -100 iso gives me an aperture of ƒ/4. Impossible to do without a central shutter. The problem with the ND filter is that it compensates for ambient light (that's ok) but also for flash light. It is therefore not comparable to a central shutter which does not affect the flash (a Profoto ProB2 delivers a flash of 1/12000th of a sec, much faster than the shutter). Another difference: the XD2 delivers files in 16-bit Native, which is not the case with the Fuji. All this to say that these two cameras are not comparable. Their only common point is that they are MF cameras with a small MF sensor.
@WILMORENO3 ай бұрын
@photographiezautrement ah that makes sense. I was like why are you telling me this haha. Thanks again man. Its a shame they discontinued the H series. Even bigger sensor is always attractive. But the x2d is way easier to carry around. Cheers! 🍻
@photographiezautrement3 ай бұрын
@@WILMORENO In fact, I was worried about the evolution of the Hasselblad range. I didn't know what to take in case my H5D broke down. Of course, the "small" CMOS sensor is not completely comparable to a 43x56 mm CCD like the Dalsa that equips my H5D, especially in terms of colors and rendering (especially for the rendering of the skin in beauty photos). The X2D is not quite at the same level yet. But with these new lenses and the update of the body I am now reassured, because I have a credible alternative to the H. I found Hasselblad as I knew it and that is obviously excellent news. And then I still have solutions: there is a second-hand market for H bodies and H lenses. The H was far too expensive for that to be viable. I'm not surprised they stopped it. As for lenses, the brand new XCDs that have just come out have finished reassuring me for the future. Here again, I find the "Hasselblad spirit" So I think I'll take an X2D with the 25 mm and the 38 mm for outdoors (fashion, street portraits, photographing Paris for fun), then my H lenses for the rest (80mm, 50mm, 120mm macro and 210 mm). For the studio (I mainly do cosmetic beauty and fashion) it will mainly be the H which is still "ahead" in pure quality. But the X2D is quite credible and will ensure the future in case of a problem with my H5D. And it will be better for my shoulders and my back! (the H5D-60 + 50 mm equivalent to 35 mm in 24x36 weighs 2.8 kg!)

@@WILMORENO Oh yeah man that's 100% your problem, Adobe and Fuji have never played well together. Fuji partners with Capture One and all of the film sims are inside capture one as well as Capture One's Pro Standard profile that they manually create for each camera which IMO is some of the best color you can get out of any camera especially on the GFX files. Adobe is cheap and refuses to work with brands so they keep things proprietary. No one even the camera manufacturers know what happens under the hood of Adobe's raw processing. Adobe just guesses at their profiles which ends up being a complete mess. Not to mention Adobe's raw processing is extremely outdated. It would be too much work to overhaul it since it's integrated into so many things so they haven't fundamentally changed it for years. Unfortunately there's still some bad blood between Capture One and Hasselblad because Capture One used to be owned by Phase One which was one of Hasselblad's main competitors. That's okay with me though because Hasselblad is about done. DJI has driven them into the ground. It's not the same company it was before the acquisition. Most of the pros that were shooting with the H6 have left and their customer service and support is now horrible. I was always thinking my end game would be Hasselblad but DJI ruined that which is super sad. Fuji is a much better company that actually stands behind their products.

@@WILMORENO Who knows, A lot of people speculate that DJI just bought Hasselblad for some of their lens patents they wanted to use for their inspire drones and don't really care about continuing making cameras. They really screwed over H6D-50C owners because they refuse to do a new run of the 50C backs and they have a high failure rate. So lots of photographers have expensive bricks now. I've also heard wild rumors that DJI is planning on using the Hasselblad brand to enter the full frame market and compete with Sony but with as much as they have been neglecting support of current products I don't see that being the case. As far as I know Hasselblad is having a very slow and costly service. Firmware updates also suffer a slow release. While Fuji is a better option in all fields, except in flash synchro. But still you can buy a Hasselblad H lens and use the central shutter speed in those lenses via an adapter only losing autofocus in the process.

"Film simulation"? Really? What for??? To replicate all the shortcomings of film, and there were many. I am sure I do not want to go back there (including Kodachrome blocked-out shadows). As for the Fuji "simulations", yes, they may be fun to use and they are just that, "simulations". Again, for what purpose except the fun of it... up to a point? I'd rather get colors as close as the one I saw and that triggered my wanting to photograph that scene/subject. We can always simulate anything from that, the opposite is very hard if not impossible to achieve (getting precise colors back from a "simulated" image). So for me, the choice is easy: no need for any simulation (except BW maybe).

Just a consideration for Hasselblad vs fuji. Hasselblad leaf shutters are second to none if you are dependent on making studio work with flashlights no doubt about that, But…. The quality and sharpness of there modern lenses are not better or worse than other brand lenses. And then the elephant in the room…. Non of the Hasselblad cameras or there lenses have an IP rating, meaning they are not water resistant, so good luck if you are a landscape photographer or take the camera out into damp or dusty areas. And Ok color science, it's a matter of opinion, but in my opinion you can make a fuji image look like cannon, Nikon or Hasselblad with a minimum of effort by building presets in your editing software, but by all means if Hasselblad colors are the only thing that works then choose hasselblad, but please remember that their lenses are about twice the price and the selection is very limited. Also the autofocus on Hasselblad is slow like he…. I loved Hasselblad in my film days but now 2024 they are ways behind and in my opinion color science is more a marketing gimmick than a real difference, color is more about feelings and opinion than an exact science.

Is not to be educational but more a reminder to os all, that as a creative photographer we should focus on the use case for the camera gear it’s after all a just a simple, but expensive, medium to express and capture our vision and intent in a picture, to make it appealing for our customers If your a pro, and if your an amateur then it’s to satisfy yourself. And no amount of sensor color magic, brand name or technology can make a bad vision, execution and composition look good. It’s the person behind the camera that create the picture not the 100 fps, the 102 Mpix or an autofocus that are optimized and have different settings for a train, animals and bikes etc.. It’s motivation, hard work and more work + experience that result in grate pictures and yes sometimes luck, So Fuji or Hasselblad or cannon Nikon or an IPhone it dose not matter. it’s the person and there knowledge + vision that will produce grate pictures not the brand / price / hype of gear in the closet or in the backpack that gives the result.

... well, I think, that there are more differencies in between these two : 1/ COLORS ... Hasselblad dominates here. It saves you a lot of time afterwards. And time is money. 2/ STOPS ... you will immediately notice that when shooting from hand. With X2D you can shoot with 1 second s.s. and the shot will still be sharp like a razor. More light means better (sharper and more detailed) images. 3/ DETAILS ... GFX has less details per pixel, especially in the dark areas of the image, my own experience. The Fujifilm has faster focusing, it shoots video and generally is an industry standard. But for stills, the X2D is the No.1 choice without any doubt. What a grand shame they don't have 32-64 mm lens 😞
@WILMORENO11 ай бұрын
Agreed. Also for me shooting is the fun part, post processing is less exciting. Not a fan of adding steps in that department. You know, I wanted video on the x2d but I only took a few video clips on the my gfx during that whole time. I'm hoping my 35-75 will be satisfactory. 28mm equivalent on the wide end might do the trick. As a portrait guy; 75 > 64 :)

Hmm. I never totally understand when people complain about colors. That's because they never seem to test, in my eyes, correctly. They'll say I'm processing in Lightroom or Capture One. And I ask them if they know those programs are made by Fuji or Hassey. I tell them to compare using Phocus or Fuji X app to get the REAL colors. Especially if you're only shooting RAW. Shrugs. What do I know. In this video he didn't even say how he's processing the images. But it's how he sees it so.....

"They"? Who? The issue here is that for images straight out of the camera, JPG for JPG, without any interference in post-production (so the program does not matter much), the ones taken with the X2D look better than the ones taken with the Fuji, meaning closer to the real colors and without any slight yellowish/greenish cast. Nothing else is said or seen, whomever "they" can be ;o)

It is honestly a bit silly how people are making absolut claims about Hasselblad being better. Fuji is sought after by many pros for their colors and the "malleability" of the 16bit files. Which proves.... well: Nothing. "Good color" is highly subjective and I say that after shooting in many different formats since more than 20y. Saying tha the Fuji cannot make good images is almost funny. I just downloaded a number of Raw samples from both cameras underneath a Matt Granger video on YT, there are differences, but once you dial down the magenta (for those who do not like it) in the Fuji files, skin tones are scaringly similar to the Hasselblad files. Surprise, it is the same sensor. I vastly prefer (I said "prefer") Fuji colors, and often find the Hasselblad files or too cool/ a too greenish pie/ too something else. Never as pleasing as Fuji's - Been a Fuji guy since my first Fuji DSLR in the early 2000s. I suggest you just go on enjoying your Hasselblads and get over the fact that color is a matter of preference. One thing that the X2D clearly has over the Fuji: it is a more beautiful camera. But you have to pay that quite a bit.
@WILMORENOАй бұрын
@bernios3446 Who said fuji can not make good images? Did you just make that up to win a statement against...yourself? I liked my gfx fine. I've been using many formats for over 30 years now. All brands. I also have a background running flexographic printing presses. In flexo, color output is measured by a spectrodensitometer. Color accuracy is paramount. It's the difference in getting paid or throwing away products. You could say im partial to a certain standard for color. Not everyone will choose your favorite camera brand. You need to accept that. "I suggest you get over the fact that color is a matter of preference" That sounds like advice for yourself... I'm not interested in anyone else's preferences. If im spending over $10,000 ill choose whichever I find better. This video wasn't sponsored. There's enough youtubers out there reading spec sheets and shilling. Im sharing my opinions for the people out there who want to hear them. Unless you've owned and shot both systems extensively, your opinion on the matter doesn't hold any water. Downloading someone elses files isn't the same as the research I put in. But thanks for the comment. It helps views I am glad you at least noticed the magenta issue. I'm currently having a lot of fun with the nikon zf and vintage glass. Nikons colors aren't as good as hasselblads imo. But I'm still enjoying the system a ton

@@WILMORENO Actually I misheard twice the passage about sync speed followed by "it can make good images" - which I heard as "can't make good images" + the comments who about the presumably bad Fuji colors. Only after your comment I went back to that passage and now heard "can make". (I am not english native speaker). Fair enough. I also processed the same raw files (with the Magenta cast) in Capture One which converts the gfx files much nicer, quite clos to the Hasselblad files and without that cast.

Hasselblad has fallen into the marketing hype ditch! They are super expensive, and super slow for most uses outside of controlled studio, and offer very very little to an already tiny audience - medium format is demanded (need to have), by about 1 percent of people who demand (not want) full frame over apsc… in medium format, the only, not negatable feature of the hasselblad, is the fact that they use leaf shutter instead of traditional shutter…

Hasselblad lenses are manufactured by Fuji so I think it's not a coating problem for the colors, but the software. Landscape looks very realistic on my Fuji GFX 100 II, but skintones are better on the Hasselblad without tuning. Maybe they use the DJI technology. I heard from a lot of camerashops that there are a lot of problems with the Hasselblad camera's. It's not the real Hasselblad anymore. Also the service was not good. So I keep my old 501 CM and the Fuji 100II

Also I think Hasselblad won't be sending me any units for review because I was a little too honest. RIP my wallet. It's kind of hard to tell right now, it seems hasselblad is listening and trying to fix issues. I just wish their lenses were in stock more often. It's like Rolex. you can buy your favorite model from a reseller, with a hefty markup. No thanks. I used lightroom for both m gfx and x2d. Way way happier with the x2d files. Fuji camera is fine but if you're a perfectionist like me, the x2d creates less headache. in my opinion. the 500 series cameras are great, I'm saving up for xcd lenses, otherwise i'd be shooting film too. thanks for your comment

Most likely you're using LR for processing the Fujifilm and you're using Hasselblad's very own post processing engine FOCUS for your Hassy. Of course you would see a difference. Hassy's very own native post processing software vs a third party app. It's not the camera's original jpeg files but the post processing default interpretation of those camera files. The camera manufacturer has no control over how LR or C1 is interpreting those jpeg files. RAW is simply a dump from the sensor, however the post processor will use the camera's WB setting if you have it set to do so. Since much of your work is landscape, you may be pleased with your results. Skin tones may be an entirely different issue.

I calibrated fujis sensor with two professional white balancing tools. Datacolor spyderchecker and calibrite passport colorchecker. I used lightroom for all raw conversions and then photoshop for fine detailing. In my experience, the fuji took more white balancing in post processing than any of my other cameras. medium format is anything larger than 35mm film, which this is. While it's not equivalent to film medium format (120) it's still digital medium format, or medium format for short. Considering modern medium format digital cameras such as the ones in the video outperform 120 film in terms of image quality I don't see why one wouldn't simply call it that.
@andregant998011 ай бұрын
@@ChrisThe1 Respectfully, that logic doesn't make sense. Based on your logic, APS-C is anything larger than micro-fourth thirds. That means 35mm, medium format, etc., are basically micro four-thirds... just larger. We know that's not the case. Based on the misnaming of the cropped medium format sensor size, we should call APS-C 35mm because "it's just a cropped version of 35mm" lol. Anyway... to avoid market confusion, the industry has established monikers for sensor sizes. Medium format is established based on its' size. Fuji initially branded the cropped medium format as "Large Format." It was all over their website landing pages for the GFX line of cameras. Then, they realized "Large Format" moniker was problematic. They didn't want to call it "cropped medium" because the word "cropped" detracts from the concept of having an advantage over 35mm. We all know it's clearly bigger even tho it's cropped. However, the point is that marketing teams are sensitive to word selection for obvious reasons, such as millions of dollars being at stake. Anyway, I'd love to start a campaign to ask the community to come up with a catchy name for the cropped medium format sensor size. How about "Super Medium, Format." LOL
@davidpalermo469511 ай бұрын
