Great video! He‘s doing it in direct sunlight so that we can see what he is doing!

120/220 film have a paper backing, so none of the film actually comes into contact with light when you load it. Therefore loading/unloading a medium format camera in direct sunlight is perfectly fine.

Thx - I followed the manual that said to pull the film until the line shows up on the left side. But the image in said manual shows it on the right side like you are doing here. Confused. First film will probably have a blank - or will it? The manual states that a sensor reads the film bar code and positions it correctly on the first frame anyway. So I probably shouldn't worry.

Unfortunatelly the GX680’s movement’s aren’t as precise and easily adjustable as on a LF camera, but it’s a nice feature. We’re using Foma 100 because it’s a very good film, for it’s price. In Hungary it costs 3,3 USD. It’s good for at least 10f-stop range, with relative good sharpness. If we need more, we’re using Ilford Delta, or Kodak T-Max. We develop it slowly in a slightly modified D76. I’ll make some video of the camera itself, too. :)

Hello Atïlla im a virgin on this format .so...my professional photo friend loaned me a FUJI GX 680 and i realise its not exactly the same as yours.Question i have after following this video and loaded the camera with a 160 Kodak Portra film how do i carry out the last step which i assume it is the camera loading the film on its own? Because i do not have the slot you opened and pressed a button on. Oh another question :if i leave the battery on the camera body and switch off camera over night is it normal that in the morning the battery is dead/finished? Without having used it at all

Hi. Recently purchased gx680III kit. I'm having problems with one of the film backs not advancing to the first frame. It's just making a clicking sound. Have you experienced this problem before?

Hey men, thanks for share this vid, i just get my gx680iii buyed used on ebay it have batteries and all working my only concers is should i reset the rollfilm or some before use it? when the roll is at he end for take out should i do on a darkroom? Thanks so much.

If you finished the rollfilm, you don't have to rewind it. You can open the back and take out the film. But be careful, keep the roll as tight as you can, and seal it with the tape. (No need to do it in a drakroom)

How many rolls you can charge with a set of batteries? Thanks.

I never checked this. :) I use 6 AA batteries in the camera, and they last - almost - forever.

Always load film in “subdued light”.

Do you need a 220 back to use a 220 cassette, or can you put a 120 cassette into a 220 back, and a 220 cassette into a 120 back?

The Fuji GX680 III has an universal film back that would take 120 and 220 cassettes, too.

Thanks. I've threaded roughly 50 rolls of film this way, in sunlight, without any problem.

sure, the best way to load a film is in direct sunlight! :)

There shouldn't be any problem as long you do everything like in this video. :P
