Great combination, the setup is great for IBJJF rules and the execution is picture perfect. I've always found Yoko Tomoe-nage to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing throws, I love the way the uke's feet go flying directly above his head, and his body rotates and changes direction mid-air. It's such a disorienting technique too, especially for people who don't do judo and aren't used to doing cartwheels to defend throws. That omoplata at 2:32 was beautiful too, using that knee to bump the tricep. It's such a subtle setup, used by some of the best omoplata experts in the world.

Nice thank you. This is one of the best demonstrations of yoko tomoe nage especially since you're right handed. Jimmy Pedro has beautiful technique but I have to try to mirror everything he does. It's also nice that you talk about your approach for competing with new people. Also I like the bjj focus. Very smooth technique.

This is a great variation of the throw. I find this throw very easy to perform at my dojo. Easiest way to make this throw happen is to only fight combatants under 12 years old.

Very slick. I really like how this chains together. Does this work if they are in the same stance as you are, ex: both right foot forward?

+initialZEN you really need to get their weak plane exposed by having them step their front foot back (in your example, the right foot). My favorite method of achieving this is by attacking their front foot with ko uchi gari. When the foot sweep is attacked, they will be forced to step backwards. I then instantly attack the yoko tomoe nagi. Thanks for the question!

Im gonna use that technique in my trainimg....my favorite technique is uki waza n i think if uki waza fails yoko tomoe nage would make a good job

Dude, that's Brent Weedman. He's a retired professional MMA fighter with 8 wins in Bellator (5 by finish), a black belt in Judo, and a black belt in BJJ. I'm pretty sure he could have success with this technique against pretty much anyone he wants, assuming they're not also a professional athlete.
