I have owned and used the X-Pro 1, X-E2s and X-E3. The X-Pro line certainly fits the bill if you want to feel special through its ownership. Nicer built, better shutter release, ISO dial and the later models have weather resistance. To say nothing of an OVF. However, the X-E3 (and X-E4) are more compact and let's be honest a lot cheaper, so you can invest the funds elsewhere. Buying an extra lens or two or going on a photo trip somewhere. If you are going to put zoom lenses or big primes on either of these camera styles, you should be looking at the X-T line. Personally, I use the X-E3 as my compact camera of choice with the XF 16mm, 27mm, 35mm f2 and 60mm Macro. I keep toying with the idea of a X-Pro 2 or 3 for that special feel and the OVF, but it's hard to justify the expense. Especially considering the OVF will only be of any use with the 27 and 35mm lenses. If I liked 23mm lenses (I don't), I would not consider either of these cameras but go for something in the X100 line. Now if Fujifilm made an X100vi, with a fixed 27mm.......Ahhhhgagagagagaga....

Thanks for the review Tudor. People rave about great colors on the xtrans 2 color. Did you notice that on your xe2s? Thank you.

Yes I did, the colors are incredible. I will do a review showing the jpegs from x-e2s used with 35mm f2 7artisans Leica m mount and XF 35mm F1.4

Is the XT4 the only one with IBIS and weathersealing? I need the IBIS for long exposure shots at night (1/5 shutter speed) at 40mm. I also need solid weathersealing because it's always spitting here in UK. I am thinking about the 27mm f2.8 and the 18mm lens. Is the 27mm pancake solidly weathersealed?

Yes XT4 it's the only one and 27mm mkii it's weather sealed.

In 2017 I was in the market for such a camera. The main contenders, at least to me, at that time were the X-Pro2 and the Olympus Pen-F. My decision went to the Pen-F, and I still prefer it over the X-Pro3 or any other Fuji rangefinder style camera. 😎 The only thing I really envy the Fuji for is its optical view-finder.

Exactly, I know what you are saying. I like M43 cameras too. I have GX-9, I wish Pen-f didn't have a flip out screen.

I’m currently shooting on an XT3 and a X100V and I want to add a new camera body. I can’t de ice between the XE4, XT4 or XPRO 3. I shoot portraits and headshots. Any advice or suggestions appreciated!

Hi, I feel x-t4 will be the best choice for portraits. Xpro3 can work very fine but it's more of I like how it looks and you'll not have the IBIS, the firmware and the fully articulating screen of X-T4. X-e4 it's fine too, but being very small with big lenses it will not be very well balanced. But if you are having xt3 and want a different experience, than Fuji xpro3 it's a good addition.

I agree with your thoughts on the X-E2s. I have a lot of Fujifilm cameras including two X-T3 bodies, but the X-E2s gives me the most analog experience with digital gear. I am so lucky to have bought one still new in the box years after it was replaced by the X-E3 (which I also own). The X-E2s is a camera that I will not sell.

Thank you very much for the feedback. It's encouraging to see I'm not the only one admiring X-e2s.

I only have theX-E2 (not 's), but I think exactly the same!
@richardhale96642 жыл бұрын
I owned the X-E2s and loved it. I only sold it as my burgeoning collection then included a X-T1 and X-E3. The X-T1 is barely any larger, has better controls, more versatility, better EVF, and in this day and age the price difference between the two is negligible. I got the X-E3 as I wanted to experiment with the square crop more and thought I would need the extra resolution (I was wrong). Having both the 2 and 3, I decided one would have to go as neither was seeing enough use. I plumped for keeping the X-E3, because as I said, the X-T1 is barely any larger than a X-E2, and much better appointed. I am still not sure whether or not I sold the right camera! That's how good the X-E2 (or 2s) is. To be honest, and thinking with my head rather than my heart, once I sorted out the WB on the X-E3 and I was able to more or less replicate the X-E2 image quality on the 3, I am sure I did make the right choice. However, I was sad to let the X-E2s go and I feel that is the best compliment I can pay to any camera.

@@richardhale9664 I had very similar problems! In the end I sold my X-T1 (and I'm also thinking that maybe I didn't make the best decision), in the meantime I have an X-E2s and an X-E3. But even that is too much, but I don't know which one to keep. :)
@richardhale96642 жыл бұрын
@@zsoltaudio You can probably sell the X-E3 and buy another X-T1 plus battery grip and/ or MHG-XT1 and have change to spare! You would probably break even more or less exchanging the X-E2s for a X-T1. I much prefer the X-T1 over either of the X-E models because it is much better for manual focus lenses, is better balanced with bigger and longer lenses, and has better build quality. The X-E3 though wins out when it comes down to its compact size and is more discreet. If none of these points matter to you, just keep what you have and enjoy both of them.
