Fuji XE4 discontinued

Sad news to hear that FUJI XE4 was discontinued as I am starting to enjoy this little camera more and more.
A lovely day outside in the heart of Brussels, trying to challenge myself to get some got shots in the overcrowded Grand Place.
1st time using an anamorphic lens on the channel. Really happy with the results :)

I'm hoping there is an XE5 so the XE4 prices go down instead of up. Hoping to buy one used when I have the cash on hand. I think it's the most elegant looking camera produced in the digital era. and it doesn't hurt that it's a great camera too.

When you mention prices go up I just think about the fuji X100V. In Belgium there are people selling it at 2000 euros :)). That's crazy. XE4 is a great camera in a compact form. If you find one, get one !

Got an xe4 used at 1.5x MSRP 🥴. Paired it with the new voightlander f2 mm pancake manual focus lens and will soon follow with the f2.8 18mm manual pancake. Fuji committed to an xe5

Bummer about the X-E4. It’s our FAV and we own 2. Also, nice on the stretchy footage. One of our X-E4's we've modified to have with a permanent anamorphic lens setup. A video exists regarding on ours.

Picked up mine at Grobet in Antwerp. Travelled there from the Netherlands, as they ran out here already. This might be one of those iconic cameras that will be much appreciated after its death, like Van Gogh 😉 I love it. Using it with the 18 or 33 mm, it’s like the favorite companion of my X100V. Love the video, love the intro, as always. Recipe is great, but I also like your photos that are a tad bit more saturated!

Hi Michiel :) I picked up my Q2 at Grobet :). Thanks for the feedback on the video. Lots of people complain about the XE4's viewfinder and buttons but personally I don't mind it as it is small :). Enjoy using it ! :)

Thanks for this video. I'm shooting with an X-E3 as my only camera. So I strongly hope, Fuji will continue the E-series that I can get a replacement when I need it. The X-T series is too large and the X-Pro series too expensive without offering enough additional value over the E-Series.

Hi Joe ! Thanks for watching :) I love my XE4 and I shoot a lot with it recently. I fully agree with you regarding the E series comparing to XPROs being to large and bulky. For street photography it's a fabulous camera.

That new anamorphic is great. Have you ever thought about making a video about making video footage. You are very good at it. I like the tones of the Portra simulation but found the jpeg highlights to be a bit blown out. Have a great time in NYC.

Great shots and video my friend. Have you tried to shoot stills with the Sirui? I love to do this. I also love to shoot with my Fujis all day long and actually fully SOOC JPEG (no RAW) with several Recipes. As much as I love the Q2 Monochrom, which is special (and which I actually also prefer the SOOC for street photography), the fujifilm are so much fun to use privately AND professionally! Amazing for NYC! Hope to head the streets again together soon mate. A+

I didn't try to shoot stills with the Sirui (it's not my lens, I rented it and I plan to rent it again) I will try to shoot some stills now that you mention it. I love the look of it in the video. Fully agree with you regarding the SOOC, that's the beauty of the Fuji cameras ! Let me know if you are planning to come to Brussels anytime soon. I don't know when I am around Liege or Maastricht. My morning started great. A good coffee watching the intro of this episode at least three times😉. It was simply flawless, pure emotion. Too bad they choose to discontinue the production of the XE4. Smooth post, vid, and pics, Octavian. After seeing the intro, my first question was going to be if you used an anamorphic lens - but you answered promptly, already😊. Favs are 5, silhouette, 7 (smartphone) layering, and 14 (hat person) - saw that one coming. Ending was a bit morbid - it’s a camera, after all. Fuji will likely come out with a new model soon and the XE4 discontinuance won’t seem as sad, IMO. Have fun in New York - I was born and raised there, but moved long ago. Will you put out a “meet-me” call to your NY subscribers? You might be pleasantly surprised at the turnout. (I doubt that you’ll find waffles there as good as you are used to, though😊.) Cheers!

Hi Paul ! Some of us, photographers get attached to things more than should :). I will be in NY only 4 days so I am not sure I will have time to meet to many people. Probably one photographer to show me around the good spots. Aaaand it's still a pretty small channel :) BTW, how is NY ? Is it the mecca for the street photographers ?

@@OctavianCarare Yes, Octavian, NY is still a street photography Mecca. New Yorkers can be gruff and ornery, but they are used to anything goes. Security and personal safety can be problematic, so it could be “dicey” to take your Leica. A few YT hosts based in the EU went to NYC, but wound up at all the tourist spots and things to do, like a helicopter ride - not favorable for the kind of images you’ve been posting. Your channel will grow faster soon enough. Take care, friend.
