thanks for the insight, Rob. trying to decide if the APD is worth the $500 mark-up. I got the information I needed from this video. all the best to you, man!

Thanks for the review! It's a subjective choice. I shoot portraiture mainly and to me the difference the APD makes is worth a lot more than the extra 500 bucks. On my old X-pro1 the outcome is unique and phenomenal. Nothing like it really...
@RobZeigler5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree that it's a subjective choice. For some, the cost will overshadow the perceived benefits, but I'm thrilled that you've found the look and the magic in it that makes it worthwhile for your photography. That's a great feeling.

Thanks a lot, Rob, for your review! I just got my copy of Fujinon 56 APD, and tested it a tad. Looks like it's not designed for continuous shooting with tracking. Do you happen to know if that is because the lens is not compatible with phase-detect AF? Thank you!
@RobZeigler6 жыл бұрын
Hi Serge. I definitely think that continuous shooting would be affected due to the lack of phase-detect usage. I think it's primarily intended to be a single focus point lens (slower paced shooting environment) as opposed to a constant AF tracking continuous shooting lens. That was a mouthful, but I think that makes sense. :)

Thanks, Rob! I tested it in continues, and it worked quite decently in good light. However, it's much better for stationary objects, you are right! The lens is awesome! Cheers!

Well, if a person can afford a car or a vacation then they can easily afford this. Fortunately, I don't have a car so I can afford this lens. Just ordered one yesterday. *grin*

Why talking about money? Show us the advantages. The not-APD is in ff-termes only 1.8-85 mm. So for remarkable results you need APD.

So you use the APD? I am thinking about the APD. I am not sure, everybody prefers the regular 56mm. But Fuji would not have brought this out without any reason????
@RobZeigler5 жыл бұрын
Hi AKlaas. Money and budget is a large factor for the vast majority of shooters that I know. For the price / performance, I didn't see the advantage of the APD version. Your mileage may vary.

Hi Nevets, that's correct. I only have samples of the lens that I had, which are linked in the video description. You'll have to do more research on your own to compare the two versions - this is a review of the APD.
