Lovely photos! I just ordered the 10-24 and can't wait for it to arrive. We are going to Austria in December and I needed a wide zoom to take with us. I checked out a few of your travel videos. They are great! We have been to Italy a few times. My wife and I shared our first kiss in Florence in 1966! She was 14, I was 15. The last time we visited, just before Covid, we spent 10 days in the heart of Tuscany. We hope to return to Italy next year. Greetings from America!

Thanks a lot! Your words mean a lot to me. You will definitely enjoy Austria. I'm sure you already know, but Hallstatt is a must visit place to go. As for Italy you're right, we have a lot of wonderful places. Loved to hear your first kiss story

Thank you Luca, this lens has been on my “to get list” for a long time, it’s the only zoom that I’m missing for the X-T4, this video/review will help me make a decision. Be well and stay safe.

Hope to see your review on 23mm 1.4 LM WR, I was hesitating to buy a 23mm or 33mm for portrait, any advice, thanks

Hope to be able to do it. I don't have plans for buying it, but a friend of mine does. If and when that happens I will definitely steal it from him and push out a review

Vlogging may be better with 15 -45mm

For size and weight yes, for image quality and field of view no way

I use the 16-80mm f4 ois for vlogging and the IBIS wobble is also present, but I prefer using the 16-55mm f2.8 for photography which often lot means I'm vlogging with it but for vlogs it's even worse wobble without OIS. I'm contemplating picking up a 10-24mm or the new viltrox 13mm, but I'm more of a zoom guy for video, and ois is a bit of a big deal 😅. If the 10-24mm was f2.8 I'd jump on it, let go of the 16-80mm and just keep the 16-55mm 👌😁 decisions decisions 🤣

The 10-24 is definitely better when it comes to stabilizing videos, although you can find some wobble in the corners with it (it gets way better with the X-H2s, they probably worked on the interaction between IBIS and OIS). The 13mm isn't bad, it is actually good, but of course it is not stabilized and so you'll have to deal with IBIS only (i would also add the electronic stabilization, as it works in these situations). Ultimately, if the 10-24 was F2.8, it would have been a lot bigger. I don't personally mind F4 for vlogging

@@LucaPetraliaPhotography I don't mind f4 dor vlogging either, just as a hybrid shooter I'd love to be able to use a faster aperture when time calls for it. Frankly the weight of the 16-55mm f2.8 really doesn't bother me personally speaking, on the bigger bodies it really isn't front heavy either. Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 has ois and yet is about 100g lighter than the 16-55mm. A lot more is possible with modern technology, and I believe that competition will push development in the industry. I love my aperture ring, but if Tamron or Sigma, or anyone else would come up with a 10-24mm f2.8 OIS, I'd genuinely give them a try. As for third party lenses, I only own Laowa manual lenses and they quite impress me for what they are, Laowa is slowly bringing AF lenses to FF cameras, leads hope that more lens manufacturers will build interest to both the aps-c and medium format markets. Thank you for your response, I appreciate your experience, and I'm glad to hear that our current lenses are performing better with the X-H2s, gives hope that the next X-T5 will be the champ we've been hoping for since the X-T4 😎👍👍

I'm pretty sure the X-T5 will be more than great. And I'm also sure we'll see lenses like the one you're after from Tamron and sigma, especially now that Fuji has become a more compelling option

Thank you very much for your fantastic review - tremendously helpful! You’ve captured some really exquisite photos, spectacular work!! I’m debating getting the 16-55 f2.8 or the 10-24 at the moment to compliment my 50-140 (primarily for landscape), I’d love to know what your recommendation would be? Keep up the great work and brilliant reviews. Many thanks and warmest regards to you from the UK
@LucaPetraliaPhotography3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ben! It is hard to recommend one over the other. Optically the 16-55 is an incredible lens, way better than the 10-24. However when it comes to landscape it's all about the focal range and our personal style. There are photographers that travel only with 10-24 and 55-200, such as Andy Mumford, others that don't use wide angles too much. In general the 16-55 is better and more versatile, while the 10-24 has the super wide angle look that allows to better play with perspectives, foregrounds and backgrounds

@@LucaPetraliaPhotography Thank you very much for taking the time to respond, that’s very kind of you! Very helpful to know that the 16-55 is optically superior and on that basis I think I’ll prioritise getting it as a “collection of primes for every occasion” and then trying the 10-24 at a later date. Thank you ever so much for your extremely valuable insight and for your wonderful reviews - they have been tremendously helpful on my journey into Fujifilm! My warmest regards Ben

I already changed it, but I'm even closer 😅. My studio is very small so I don't have too much breathing room, regardless of the setup. I am thinking about going bigger, but it's a long term plan
