FYI, This is not medium format. Fujifilm call it “larger than full frame”. They actually corrected it a while ago. The sensor size is smaller than the smallest medium format film 645.

It's quite literally not the cheapest new medium format camera you can buy. But I get your point.

I‘d recommend a mint gfx 50s/r if you don‘t need fast (and insecure) autofocus. Image output is as good with more microcontrast, just less mp.

It's all about pricing strategy; it has nothing to do with the cost of a certain set of features. Fuji designed the best camera they could, at the time, and decided that it would make sales at $7500. But this leaves a price point where they have nothing to offer, so they decided to hit the $5000 point; then they slightly reduce the feature-set, so sales of the top model don't get cannibalized.

8:15 the ethernet port lets u plugin LTE devices that upload pictures taken immediately to whatever editing studio is being used for that production/shoot. like in f1/nascar/ le mans so on where u need the photos to be sent to production quickly and pushed for publications. You see them often in behind the scenes shoots of said events.

which is better fujifilm or hasselblad

I personally prefer the Hasselblad for it's color science and leaf shutter but the price is just so expensive

I think it's about the color science you're looking for. You can easily capture the very same color science in this medium format fujifilm camera as you can with an aps-c fujifilm sensor in one of their cheaper priced or older generation cameras. Frankly, Hasselblad has a more pleasing color science in my opinion and you don't have to spend $5000-9000 for a fujifilm camera if fujifilm's color science is your aim. The overall color quality of the images coming out of a Hasselblad feel qualitatively worth more than the color science of fujifilm and sometimes fujifilm's colors feel cheap so spending thousands of dollars for their medium format camera is really a matter of 'will you have any use for their images in the lightroom'. If you don't plan on making much use in the lightroom and are interested in fujifilm then buy an X-T5, X-T50, x100VI or even an X-T30 Mark II. I myself am saving for a Hasselblad!

The Cheapest? You can get a 50r used for $1700

I’ll get this for 1500 in 5 years 😊

Typically if you're using this you're probably doing high end photoshoots such as magazine behind the movies and such so you'd most likely make lots in 5 years

Funny this review did not mention anything about the actual performance of the camera but just read the spec sheet out loud and call it a day. Nothing to see you guys move on.

Why would you spend $5000 US on a camera and not have a decent storage system or a decent computer to handle it? You wouldn't do that and to be honest even just basic SSD storage now for terabytes you can get pretty cheap to be honest and you know you could investigate expensive NA system but honestly you can just get a 4 TB SSD and that'll keep you going for three or four years, my advice would be if you do get a GFX camera is to get a MacBook as the MacBook can handle the big 100mp megapixel files. As someone who's upgraded from the 50 qualities ii this is a significant upgrade in auto focus ... The reason I chose this model over the more expensive camera is I actually didn't like the view finder sticking out like a bloody nose at the back of the camera. It is so annoying. I'd be bumping my face on it constantly. I'm the sort of guy that actually puts my eye right up to the viewfinder and I don't like it sticking out. I think it was a really bad design and I can actually see it knocking on something and getting broken at some point as well, so for me the more compact design of this model which is lighter is a much better camera for me. it only weighs 883 g the average full frame camera weighs about the same and it's only 300 g heavier than most crop sensor cameras. Seriously man harden up get the gym out. I'm 53 and I'm quite happy carrying around a big camera if I need to it's not that heavy it's not like a 10 kg dumbbell come on stop making the weight is such an issue of the camera.

Agree with all your points. I keep seeing comments about how this camera is overkill with the 100mp. Just get the 50s ii or go full frame 🤷🏻♂️ no need to hate it cause it’s 100 mp
