I love your videos! I have the SQ6 in Blush Gold. I love it so much! If you put your camera mode on lighten while using the flash filters, your pictures will come out better. The filters suppress the flash a bit. Keep making your videos!!

I 100% agree with you about appreciating the perfect imperfect pictures. Most of my favorites are pics someone would have deleted off a digital. I am typically the person with the camera at parties and events and it turns into a chore sometimes and this allows you to stay immersed.

I love this camera, Theodore! Nice review as well, good shots. I've used it quite a lot since I got it, because there's 10 photos instead of 8 on Polaroid (although Polaroids are larger). Sadly, there's no black & white film in Instax square format (yet) so I'm hoping they'll make some eventually. I found 2 tips with it: the flash is sometimes too blunt, so for reflective surfaces or people/animals (avoiding red eyes), I'm putting a white piece of paper in front of the flash to diffuse the light to avoid that. It works nicely. The other tip is that when taking something up close, there's a big difference between what the viewfinder sees and where the subject is: it's worth popping our eyes up to recenter the shot with where the lens is, otherwise it's missing the subject. It's a fabulous little camera overall, I really love it.

If you like a wider/bigger picture go for the instax wide... if you like the square frame and being able to do double exposures then get the instax square

Ornate Muse because there is probably a similar lens design and process to make the film, you will not notice a quality difference in the images.

@John Ross it'll probably break if you shoot like 3-5 packs of film in a day. I've had mine for almost a year and I've shot 11 packs of film in total and it seems fine. Again that'll depend on how extensive you'll use it

Hi, very helpful, but I still have a couple of questions: 1) I don’t quite understand the very differences between “selfie mode” and “ macro mode” since the have the same focal distance. 2) what’s the focus distance when shooting automatic, or double exposure or lighten and darken mode. They just specify the focus distance when shooting macro, selfie and landscapes. Thank you!

CR2s are 3.0V vs 1.5 for AA. A good compromise would be cr123A as they have the needed voltage, more capacity and although unknown to many they are becoming a household battery and can be found cheap as dirt online.

The only thing that bugs me about getting Instax square film is that a bunch of places don’t have it in store (but everyone has the mini film)! The only place I’ve seen it is Best Buy that’s 40 minutes away 😩 Which I guess is good because BH Photo is cheaper for a 20 pack, but only by a couple dollars when shipping is free. :( I like the way Polaroids look more, though! There’s something about the hazy dream look that makes it really artsy and nostalgic for me, which is probably because I was born in the ‘90s and my family used Polaroids lol

Thank you for this review. I was gifted a Polaroid Step2 a couple of days ago, but found that the film is very expensive for just 8 photos. In the UK it can be £15- £20! So, I'll be returning it purely for that reason. I've already ordered the camera you have reviewed here seen as you get 20 photos for say £15. Your photos look great :)

Yes Polaroid film is more expensive than Fujifilm, but for the history and the unpredictable chemistry of the film I guess it’s kind of worth it? But budget, quality, and time wise Fujifilm Instax is definitely the better deal :)

They have obviously taken inspiration from the Polaroid Imagepro. Of course the Imagepro had a few more features and gave you rectangular photos. The fujifilm develops in 90 seconds just like original Polaroid film.

I think i wanna save for and then buy the quare SQ6 instead of the mini 90😊 I love the big square picture sheets,it has cute colours, its not too big like the instax wide 300 and it does all the things that the mini 90 can do but it comes in a quare picture whit a white frame😊😊 😊so pretty and you can get so many colours in the pictures frames

Yess, u should never shake the picture, you only have to leave it in a dark place and u are good to go

personally I've always loved the instax wide, but sometimes it can be a little bulky in some circumstances, so the instax square could be alternative.
