Yes to all points, except the last. Please, just let a camera be a non smart-thing. Not everything has to be connected to social media. I know, this will come eventually. But don't like it. I don't want to accept cookies on my back screen. I don't want to have TikTok or any other crap on my camera. I just want to shoot pics out in the field and don't want to think about posting, liking, connecting or so. This all can be done at home and that's where it should stay. Shoot outside, connect at home...

I'm with you...bring back the X70!!! But include a hotshoe optical viewfinder :-) I also really dig Pixxi camera's philosophy: Let the phone do what it does best and let the camera do what it does best. Cameras are not going to beat phones at everything, we need to accept that instead of trying to fight with them. Camera manufacturers just need to leverage the strength of the camera and offload what is not it's strength to the phone. One of the key strengths of the camera that Fuji & Leica understand well is the tactile experience. Let's lean into that.

As someone who's had their head buried in the sand for the last few years when it comes to camera gear/tech, I was shocked to learn what was going on with the X100V and different cameras. Similarly, I was surprised to find out that the X100T was going for $700-$900 on eBay when I remember them being around $500 3 years ago. Wild times!

X70 is great and all, but I'd pay an insane amount for an updated X30. A pocketable camera with a modest normal zoom attached would be incredible! The sensor was the weak point, anything above iso800 was a bit ropey, but I bet with newer sensor tech now they could achieve really good results at 1600, or even 3200! Edit: I'd also pay silly money for a fast (1.4) 27mm. Edit2: It seems Viltrox has granted my wish with the 27mm f1.2!

Hi Omar, I watch all your videos, but usually on my TV so can't post comments. I logged on to a PC to send my suggestion regarding shortage of small Fuji cameras. I addition to my XT5 and several lenses I also have an XS10, matching either one to suit the purpose. The XS10 with the 27mm pancake lens really is pretty tiny and fits my jacket pocket. With its built-in flash and flippy screen it's an ideal "party" or street camera. (I've used Pentax SLRs since the late '60s till very recently and still normally use full manual, but in a 'grab the shot in a hurry' situation the XS10's Full Auto setting has never let me down). Keep those useful and entertaining posts coming!

One of my friends asked me why I always have an old camera around where I go. I chuckled. Moving forward, in 2023, we saw each other again, and he had x100v huzzah. What's mind-blowing, yes, he got it for $2500. Fujifilm really did a really good job in the marketing department and making their lineup better.

I picked up a XT20 some time ago based in part on one of your videos. I was getting ready to head to Europe and was trying to decide which camera to take with me. I have a X100F and size wise that was at the top of the list. I've traveled with the X100F before and gotten great images with it but for some reason I didn't love it. On the other hand the first Fuji I bought many years back was a X30, a 12 MP camera with a 7.1-28.4 f2-2.8 lens. I loved that camera except for the sensor size. So I picked up a XT20 and used it with my 18-55 zoom for the trip. Worked out great. The only thing I'd add to that kit might be a fast prime like the 18 f2. I think that set up...FOR ME.... is a better choice than the X100 series. (except for that leaf shutter.....)

I do not have much disposable income so I got myself a "heavily used" x-t10 from mpb for £160, and I just picked up a second hand xc35 for £110. I can't believe how capable the camera and lens are, it's hard to believe the newer cameras are much better, although I am sure they are. I am having a blast taking photos of my family and the outdoors. I love channels like this that have content that doesn't just talk about the latest and best kit, but also talks about creativity and art. Thanks for the giggles 👍

I agree with you that they missed out in not having it available. I had the X100V two different times soon after release and sold it as it always felt extra in my bag. I was looking at getting it again, but with the prices blowing up, I picked up a 10 year old Sony RX1 (Full Frame 24mp, 35/f2) for $700 bucks and have been loving it. I've been pretty much Sony exclusive since the A7SIII released and it's amazing how small they were able to make the RX1. If you want to talk about missed opportunity, Sony has missed out by not making an MKIII of this FF power house.

Sometimes I like to go out in the city with the little XF10. It has two snapshots modes which are very good on the street because they are prefocused. On the street you need F5.6 or F8, no need for F1.4 there. I suggested to Fujifilm last year that a 40 mm equalient version would also be nice. And I got an answer and a thank you for the idea. Normally I often use the X-E4 with small lenses and for landacpes the GFX 50S II. For a long time I also wanted the X100V, but ... I still have the first version which I loved. 1. LARGE GRIPS: Much prefer larger camera with solid grips (including vertical). I'm an oddball I guess, I like the heavier bodies for stabilization. 2. FILM SIM MANAGEMENT: Up/download from the camera to PC. I want to have certain sets of them for certain occasions. We shouldn't have to share screen shots of our settings, it should be a sharable file. 3. SILVER LENSES: I'd prefer silver lens. Sure it's just cosmetic, maybe helps with sunlight heat issues, but I like the look of silver lenses. 4. POSTING FROM CAMERA: Absolutely a must, just to avoid the hassles. 5. ELPH-LIKE: I'd love a pocket Fuji in that old Canon Elph size. I hear Fuji had something like that but I'm not familiar with pre XT-3 Fuji. I'd love a small companion Fuji. The X100 series is too big, too expensive. If it paired with the X-T5 to pick up all my settings from that and apply it to a the little bro even better to reduce the screen to nothing. Or let the phone app do the transfer and also function as the screen that isn't on the little bro. But, if it was less than XT3 quality I wouldn't be interested. Simple 22-75 mm zoom on it. $499.

I wonder if the camera screen could work as a duplicate screen of a phone? In this sense you see your Android gallery app on the camera rear screen. Instead of your phone camera folder you click on your 'external' camera folder. Pick images there, use exactly the same way as on your phone. So in the background the phone would access images from the camera as required, while at the same time it projects it's own screen/user interface to the LCD of the camera, much like an 'external touch screen'.

It's a careful balancing act. If I'm thinking up a wild camera to make, a full-frame compact akin to the x100 line, with a 45 or 50mm f/1.7 lens, leaf shutter and built in flash. It'd be the portrait compact, or the digital version of a lot of the classic fixed-lens rangefinders like Yashica Electro, Konica Auto S2, or Canon QL G-iii. Far shallower depth of field than any other fixed-lens camera on the market. I'm not generally FF obsessed, but the one spot where that sensor size really has a huge advantage is in bright-aperture lenses close to the standard focal length. Leaning into that with something like a 50mm f/1.7, when paired with a fill flash and leaf shutter, just opens up so much shallow DOF options, portraits even when backlit at golden hour for the influencer set, but also such a camera would fulfill any Henri Cartier-Bresson fantasies of nerds like us. But like, just having a next iteration of the x70 and having more stock for their existing and recently discontinued cameras (alas the X-E4) would go a long way.

Well, I am just very happy with X-E3 & X-H1 for my photography, street X-E3 with 27mm pancake, versatility the small f2 primes and X-H1 with the larger zoom lenses 10-24, 16-80, 70-300. I considered the current offer on the X-T5 body, but decided to stick with my gear...

Hi Omar, Hardy from Germany, this was an excellent Investigation / comment. You Are so right in your thoughts, except the X-H2, my absolut Favorit. Hoping Fuji will hear your comment, they have so much opprtunities.

Good points...mostly. Gotta love the idea of a titanium body...lol. But do NOT want apps or computer stuff on my cameras...I DO like connecting to a phone app then using the phone to adjust/send photos to soc media or via messagimg ir email. Am very happy with x100v (great edc), xt4 (don't want xt5), xs10 (nice smaller xt4 backup).

Give me a light weight tough body with a fixed lens like the CL Minolta. Lens choice - 55 mm 1.8 . I bet that surprised you lol. 55 mm is my favourite focal length followed by 135mm . It is why I shoot 30 and 60 mm on MFT on a light body . The kit zoom is handy - aren’t they all? The wide angle on my phone is good and can do most things . In an ideal world I want a camera that is maintained and updated for me at a nominal cost . In short - sustainable photography and very green . Until my fantasy becomes a reality , I will continue to use whatever camera I have at hand to achieve the story I want to tell .

How cool would it be if they revived the X70 to go after the faster aperture 28mm (ff-equivilent).

I also don't get why Fujifilm doesn't go after the Ricoh GR III market. A "XF80 is a good idea but I own the (underrated) XF-10 and would love to see an upgrade of that one with better autofocus and a 40mm like GR IIIx.

Wasn’t there a change in leadership of the Fujifilm camera division a year or so ago? I wonder whether that partly accounts for some of what we are seeing, regarding models discontinued and not replaced, the XT5 somewhat degraded in comparison with the H2/H2S, and the absence of new X100 and X-Pro models. It could also be due to manufacturing capacity, as others have noted. A new X100 or X-Pro model would trigger immediate pre-orders and renewed enthusiasm for the X-Trans line.

One thing Tony Northrop talks about a lot (and is actually right on too) is cameras need more anti theft protection. Especially since they are often targeted bc they are expensive gear and people know it. More features like gps location and tracking to where we could find it if it’s stolen. Wouldn’t even be that hard something small like an Apple air tag. They have them on drones if powered on.

I'm still a bit bummed that I didn't buy it last summer when it was still in stock. I put it off and was eventually told that Fuji Canada is no longer taking any new orders. Then the same thing happened with the X100V lol.

@@MikeCampo yea I can imagine! Definitely got lucky and found it on MPB for like $850 used and I was like I’ll get it! Since it wasn’t trying to be resold for way over the original price like the x100v has been haha I’d look into those companies and see if you can get lucky!

@@EasyTigerCreative that's awesome! Good deal. I'm currently waiting to see if they announce a succesor to the e4 or 100v (or any small form factor). Plus I gotta save a bit because I recently got my hands on a mint condition Fuji GA645W from 1995 with a shutter count around 300! The luck of getting that makes up for the earlier mishaps haha.

I think one of the issues re supply was that certain small circuit type electronic components weren’t available globally , much like the motor industry . I was hoping for an X Pro4 ? Not likely any time soon by the looks of it . Completely agree with using the amazing technology now being used in phone tech. Just bear in mind the disaster Zeiss had with their full frame, fixed fast prime lens, with built in photo editing and uploading to social media. It crashed and burned , the ZX 1

I’ve got a challenge for you. Since you can’t get a x100V I think you should get a hold of the original x100 and challenge yourself to use that for your trip. I got a X-T1 when it first came out and was incredibly impressed, but after a while I really wanted something even smaller and I found an x100 at a steal of a price. And really only used it for a few years, it’s magical!

Yes please Fujifilm! The ability to shoot with a REAL dedicated camera and then having Andriod / iOS options for posting via social media platforms via usb C cable would be a match made in heaven! For example as a Wedding / Portrait Photographer I could share images (Fujifilm JPEGS) almost immediately to my clients as samples prior to post work on Lightroom, etc.

I'm pretty sure this a supply chain issue. Fuji is dependent on Sony for making its sensors, and is a relatively small customer for them. And the Xtrans is quite bespoke and unlike the normal bayer sensors used by the rest of the industry. Even if they wanted to come out with special editions or new models, I'm not sure they have sufficient capacity to meet demand right now.

The reduction in size/weight of the x-s20 is what appeals to me as someone with an x-t30 and x-t4. The x-t4 is definitely smaller and lighter than my old dslr but still a decent weight with a lens attached compared to the x-t30 although some of that is what makes it feel like a quality camera. There’s a sweet spot for me in size as I have reasonably large hands and anything less than the x-t30 would feel incredibly small as I prefer a larger grip. Wouldn’t say no to a little pocketable x100v sized camera though 😂 maybe I need a small, flat lens for the x-t30 and that would be perfect - if I could just decide on a focal length!!

Dude you should have talked more on the film simulations. I think this is a very important topic that should be discussed. Fuji needs to take a deep dive in this sector because this is the one thing that separates them from everyone else. besides simple color shifts, I think they can go much further.

Samsung and others brads i believe, sold 10 years ago cameras with wifi and facebook to post directly from the camera. Didn’t work. I think every Fuji user will really appreciate that the app to connect with the phone works better !!! And faster maybe nfc chip, maybe a more intuitively way!! And i totally agree…. We have 4 Fuji body and the one we loved the most is the smaller one.
