a new jay video and friday is saved. :D 0:47 this is a fancy way to drink a coffee :D you once had a video in rain which was one of your best. a bummer that you were not in the mood in this episode. The bookstore is awesome. Even if I go to the biggest bookstore in town there are maybe 3 books about photography.

ahaha definitely makes the heart beat faster when you put a lens that close to liquid. You know those days when it rains but it doesn't rain hard enough? and also it was quite early in the morning as well and there weren't a lot of subjects to shoot, so that combination made it very underwhelming xD ho? I would have thought germany would be full of great photobooks... maybe they are all in Wetzlar..

The more I do this, the less photos I take. Sometimes you just have to let it all go and just shoot, don't need to show everyone everything.

I might've missed it, but were you shooting RAW for these? If not, what edit/film simulation did you use for the picture of the woman at 11:35?

I was shooting RAW, I used a custom preset for that photo, I think the base film simulation was astia

Nice one Jay. The sun did come out eventually...when I went home :-( What you said about shooting through self-doubt resonates and is important. Just because you've taken the shot doesn't mean you shouldn't take it again. You don't have the show it if you feel its a repeat. But it flexs a muscle and maybe provides a platform for something new or a variation on a theme.

Yep you never know if it's a good shot until later, so it's better to just take as much as you can so the odds of success are higher in your favour

Hello Jay new subscriber here :) just curious how you use flash for street? when flashing how do they react? and do they know you just shoot them? any tips? btw I live in Sydney too. It would be nice to meet you somewhere around :)

Hey thanks! I just shoot TTL flash. Usually if you flash someone who is walking around in the rain, they won't stop and ask questions, but generally, only take a photo when you feel a reason to, otherwise it will be awkward if they ask why you flashed them for no reason. Yeh, I'm usually in the city on weekends so you can probably find me roaming George Street 😁

haha, thankyou for the kind words sir! I think I'm just the tip of the iceberg, there's so many talented street photgraphers on youtube who take great street photos but just don't get found because of the algorithm...

In camera, I used a simulation recipe I made. Then I did some minor adjustments in Capture One
