Even half collapsed this wing has a better glide ratio than an EN-A 😂

@@intarsienschrankzwetschgen4224 Which, of course, I strongly doubt. There are roughly 4 points between ENA A and ENA D. An ENA A has a glide ratio of about 9-9.5 while a Highender is something around 12. The top speed is also a bit higher. Logical...if you want to win XC competitions. The high performance you just buy with greater instability. Is always the question of what you want

@@jaamachmal EN-A has 9.5 glide ratio in perfect conditions, not in real wind, I have been flying next to EN-A in a long glide (3 km) and I always end up waaaaaaay higher and waaay ahead, in many cases unfortunately my buddies in the A wings were not able to make the cross, got too low and landed. So the true is for XC, mid-B and higher are best. A wing is it for learning and ridge soaring, not for xc in my opinion (of course great flights have been achieved but by outstanding pilots or in perfect days)

@@RobertoVuela 👍 I love my Swing Miura. (A-B) Flies very stable, flapping are quickly corrected by the glider. I am even with 5 years flying experience still a beginner because I unfortunately do not get to fly very often. Ifs but times I want a stress-free flight, beautiful view, some thermals to climb. Acro is not my thing and competition is not at all. Only pleasure flyer (like a retiree). I wish allways hapy landings

The first small shoot was also from spin. It just escalated later. Practice stalls over water before getting to anything higher than EN B.

Exactly same thing happened to me last month and I was in free fall for 4 seconds and suddenly it inflated and pulled me up. That was 1st solo after school on my own glider
@oskaritowings13743 жыл бұрын
Clearly you did something wrong… you either chose the wrong time to fly or you pulled too much to the sides
@prudhvibiruda86613 жыл бұрын
@@oskaritowings1374 I was flying without any instruments so I am not sure what is the wind direction etc. Basically it happened when I was Thermalling and the clearance from the trigger point of the hill and me is like 400 meters or so but after the drop it was like 100 meters. I immediately thought might have gone to the leeward side (the hill was rounded ) and got away from there to another place and got little scared of flying and went back to landing that day.
@Sethgolas3 жыл бұрын
Very likely you had a full stall from pulling way too much brake. Your brakes should never be down by your hips.

@@janmatlas you would have a chance to learn to use breaks properly, let the winng fly when needed, detect stall point - not to be hopeless when similar situation hapens again, imagin it had happend lower - you are risking a lot by neglecting a proper siv training
