Fulaga canoe

This is one of only two remaining sailing dugout canoes in the island of Faluga, southern Lau, Fiji. Its builder, Meli, uses it for fishing and collecting vegetables from one of the islands within the Fuluga lagoon.

Of all the canoes I've been checking out on KZbin, this is my favorite. I've always had this puzzle in my imagination, how would I escape an island on which I was stranded? I only have what is there and what may wash up on the beach. Something like this could be the answer! Thanks for sharing.

Or use two canoes and build a catamaran, with a lashed platform between them. Then you don't have to build the outrigger hull.
