What’s useful as a carrying case for the accessories is the draw cord cover of a tripod head for you camera tripod (if you have one)….they’re nice soft cases. Just stuff em in your pocket 👍

Gen 2 only has the case improvement to hold the USB C and Lightning adapter. The audio quality is already very good so any other improvement is unlikely to be audio. I’m now using this to record my YT videos at home. Quality is comparable to my previous lavalier mic

Great review. Did you have any issues with the lid of the case. Mine opens rather freely. I cannot pick 5e case by the lid because it just drops open. I don’t have that issue with any of the Hollyland cases. I’m wondering if I have a defective case.

The colour scheme is similar. I'll review the Hollyland Lark M1 next week. Audio quality is similar, just that Fulaim has more features.

Don't get me wrong. I love my new Fulaim X5 mic set up. BUT... If you don't NEED wireless, I get better sound out of my £20 wired PurplePanda lav instead of paying £100 for the Fulaim X5! All on my iphone12pm.

I purchased it but I can't pair the microphone with the PC to download the back up, I tried on other computers and... nothing. I bought another one from Amazon and same problem but what happens? I know the various ones well procedures because I am well into the sector but it is the first time that something like this has happened to me unless there is some operation unknown to me to see the microphone from the PC.

The audio clips are recorded on the transmitter and not receiver. Connect the transmitter to your computer and it should show up just like any external storage. The files will be in WAV format. Some computers may first ask you to allow permissions to read the external storage.

Using the X5 on my iphone12pm with CinemaP3 I experienced the low volume that you described. BUT...when exported to Lumafusion the volume came back up!!! Strange!!!

Sad to see it didn’t do well with the iPhone adapter. If you use it for live video and can’t mess with your audio levels this can become a problem. I’m hope to see a good change on the next generation of these microphones. You can’t beat the price. Great review.

Yes. The battery status is very useful. There's also a 3.5mm jack that gives you option to connect to a lavalier or any other input mic if needed.

Thank you for that ,good review! - a couple of questions, can the X5 act like a USB-C audio interface plugged into a laptop? - and how secure is the wind shield attachment (it keeps falling off my Rode Wireless 1 which is annoying!)?

It can use USB C for input into the computer. Windshield seems secure. You have to twist it to take it out so it will not detach easily on its own. This is a good mic. I’ve switched from my wired mic to using this until now

if you use 2 trnasmitters for internal recording. do you have to plug 2 transmitters in computer to retrieve the audio?

You have to connect the Receiver to the computer because that will get audio into your computer. The Transmitters are on your body. Two transmitters can be used with one receiver. And this is good for 2 people talking. You will also have to adjust the gain for the mic before recording because there's usually volume difference when recording to camera, phone and computer. So you will have to test which are the best settings for computer recording.

Does it disables speaker audio on iphone when you connect the receiver. The problem is many types of wirless mics mute and disables speaker audio on my iphone while I am making short videos in SnapChat and KZbin Shorts and Reels. also I do live in TikTok I am looking for wirless mic with good voice quality and noise cancelation and do not disable and mute speaker audio on smartphone

It will mute the iPhone speaker because the phone detects audio device connected, and will try to output audio to connected device

I've not tried that before so I can't say much. This Fulaim one is good. I've been recording my videos at home with this for two weeks and going forward, and the quality is comparable to the Rode lavalier I was previously using which cost 3 times more.

Do you know how to update the date/time of the onboard recordings. When I plug it into my computer, it has the year set as 1970. 🫠
