This is very cool and thought provoking. Never really thought about using back fulcrum to maximize resonance but it makes so much sense. Not sure how this translates to mallets because when I experiment with my own sticks the resonance starts to drop off when I get too far back. So it might not be just the amount of the stick, maybe there’s a perfect ratio for each implement depending on build/weight distribution?

I think it has to do with contact and pressure, but maybe it is different for each implement, idk. I used to think middle was the best for mallets in general but I'm gonna have to mess around and see which sounds better in general
