That’s a good question. Unfortunately, as you probably know, world conflict has seen Russia banned from international events. And China only had Trampoline athletes for some unknown reason.

I doubt will ever understand how this isn't an Olympic sport yet Rhythmic gymnastics somehow is?? Someone explain to me how being flexible and performing circus tricks with toys is more Olympic-worthy than these displays of power and precise?
@invertcity15 күн бұрын
The point of contention against Tumbling being in the Olympincs is that it is too similar to the floor exercise in Artistic Gymnastics; I disagreee, but that is the rational behind that decicion. I apologize for not getting to your comment earlier, we are back and promise to do better going forward.
@Antifag197715 күн бұрын
@invertcity tumbling is as similar to floor exercise as pair figure skating is to ice dancing. Whatever rationale they use to distinguish pairs from ice dancing can distinguish tumbling from floor routines.
@invertcity15 күн бұрын
@ I fully agree with you. There definitely needs to be more attention to these differences. Specially when you consider that the sport is Trampoline Gymnastics and it includes Individual and Synchronized Trampoline, Power Tumbling, and Double Mini Trampoline. It’s a different sport from Artistic Gymnastics.

You know what? I misread you comment. My apologies. I would be interested to see what some artistic gymnasts can do on the power tumbling track.
@nathanlubeck65852 жыл бұрын
It’d be interesting to see. But to be fair, artistic gymnasts don’t train to rebound backwards out of their tumbling elements like a double layout or any other thing like that, so it’d be really hard to switch to that having never trained it. I don’t think they could compare to male tumblers, but I think they could give female tumblers a real run for their money.
@thetomcoe2 жыл бұрын
@@nathanlubeck6585 Transitions (double layout to whip) aren't rocket science for gymnasts. The top Male tumblers start doing it around 10-12 yrs old. The top women only do one transition per run (sometimes 0). Simone Biles would have been top 2 tumblers in the world if she trained, even with a slightly dodgy transition the women have enough whips to regain power for final skill. She would also be better than a few of these men (top women already doing double layout to double layout or harder). Slightly harder for Male artistic gymnasts but no reason why some (eg Jake Jarman GB) couldn't be competitive with a tiny bit of training. To be top 3 in the world you really need 3-4 transitions over 2 runs and a triple so the power is the focus in tumbling. Artistic have to do pommel and flexibility for floor so sacrifice a little power, and will also have more unnecessary bulk for tumbling.
