It is one of the best albums I have ever heard and I am a fan of alternative music, so it says a lot about how good it is. It is just the peak of pop music. Only Emotion by Carly Rae Jepsen is better, only because it has more songs in it. It's really hard to make such a cohesive album without any time where you really feel the decline. There is no such thing here and every song offers an amazing experience and just a lot of fun. And yes, maybe the lyrics are shallow and the music is not very experimental but it doesn't matter because then what is the point of pop as a genre. Listening to Pop, first of all you want to feel joy and pleasure, you don't need deep and poetic lyrics or loud guitar harmonies. However, the fact is that good pop is very hard to do and most of today's hits are hopeless and have nothing to do with what I am talking about. There is definitely more weak pop than better, but when there is good pop like the one we are dealing with here, they are not a bit worse than artists like The Beatles or Radiohead. It is just a different genre that sounds different, but the fact that it sounds different does not mean that the level of artistry is lower. Songs like Sweet Crazy Love and Uncover are some of the best songs of their genre and yes, maybe I'm exaggerating but this is how I feel about it.
