And this is what I miss with the older format of the shows. They take you step by step and they show you what they are doing. What they have done. They do not just say what they are planning and next scene have it done. Kevin and Ryan are the best hosts, Trucks or whatever they needed it later ever had.

Soooooo glad ya'll didn't do a sad patina paint job these trucks look so much better with a paint job that is fresh and uniform. Great work. I have owned 3 of these body styles and are my favorite of all the Chevy trucks .
@Averagegunenthusiast3 жыл бұрын
This is an old episode back in the day when people had taste and patina wasn't a main stream thing. Patina probably started as I can't afford paint to high end builders deciding they can save the labor and expense of a paint job but still charge you the price as if they had.
@Sonny_V3 жыл бұрын
I understand the patina look has its place, but in my opinion, you just can't beat the look of brand new beautiful paint.
@michaelmoline70583 жыл бұрын
@@Averagegunenthusiast That's honestly the first thing that came to my mind, don't get me wrong, there are some cars that patina looks amazing on, but when I see most cars with patina It just seems lazy like they were trying to avoid the paint work

how much money did you throw at that thing to try and make it look cool... under all that body filler and paint theres a story, a story you're covering up

I agree this truck looks fantastic but owning or working on a truck or car redone to this magnitude is stress x 10000. A friend of mine had a 70 something square body that had a billion dollar paint job on the body and frame. He had rubber hoses over his ratchet handles to name one extreme he went to protecting his cream puff. I absolutely hated working on that thing. Just replacing the exhaust was a nightmare. Ooh ooh careful watch it dont hit the frame, oh my god did you chip it. But then he treated his 70k suburban like a demolition car. Besides the look I can see why patina is popular. It's for cars to be genuinely enjoyed and not babied like jesus blessed the crown jewels

Another great tool to use when installing Boom Mats is a thick or folded rag, preferably clean of course. It gives you the ability to slide your hands around while pressing the mats down, especially around the usual bends/shaped metal found in vehicle cabs.

@maggs1313 жыл бұрын
I agree. So many in the comments are hating on the original look. While I agree a new paint job looks fantastic it has the side effect of making its owner weird where they baby it more than anything else they own. Makes it a complete nightmare to work on for fear of a microscopic chip on the frame.
