Great video as always. One of these days I want to take one of these and give it a 70 Daytona treatment with an appropriate wing, fenders and nose. That V8 option fits right into that concept. It would have to be rear wheel drive so I think it would be a big project.

I love the knowledge of your fan base! I am no expert of Iacocca Era Chrysler Products despite being a car crazy teen during that time. I had never heard of the Decepzione. I just finished doing a little research on that Skunkwerks Prototype. That Lamborghini engine had four cams and four two barrel Webbers! Between that and no AWD hardware that that Lamborghini engine was mated to, I think we can safely eliminate that as a model for that optional V-8. My guess was it was a "make it look cool" option with no regard to any prototypical accuracy. The 4 Lug Custom Wheels seem to provide some evidence of that approach on the MPC Product Designers Part. Great video! I love what you do Louie!

Great build and review, Louie! What I like to do if I can't attach front/rear bumper parts for painting is use a tacky glue like Aleene's (I'm sure you've seen Chris at HPIGUYS workshop use it for windows and such) and "tack glue" the parts on for uniform painting results. They're easily removed after the paint dries and worse case scenario is you score the seams before removing the parts from the main body to prevent the paint from pulling away. Hope this helps!😊

Wow, awesome job! Looks like a real car shrunk down. I'm getting back into car modeling after a loooong time away and I was really interested in how you used actual automotive paint on the body. This is an impressive model with all the build options, and I'm sure some of those alternative engines can find their way into other builds. This car looked very Japanese in terms of its styling and reminds me of its successor, the Eagle Talon/Mitsubishi Eclipse, as well as the Mitsubishi Starion to some extent. Nice to see a Chrysler sports car from this era in kit form again.

Great build, Louie. Again, the detailing was perfect. Also glad you chose to put the 4 cylinder in the model. If Ford had thought a little bit about performance back in 1974 the Mustang II would have been more popular. The 4 cylinder that was offered by Ford only did the basics, got you from A to B. The blue color choice looks good.

Nice work! So 80s, so good! I guess the 'Z' in the title was to make us think of the Datsuns, maybe a competitor? As one viewer remarked, on quick glance it is reminiscent of 1st gen Mazda RX-7s.

Super nice build sir! and it was good to see a true Gen X muscle car being brought to the channel. I have some most likely useless information for you regarding your questioning on the 5 bolt pattern factory wheels in the kit, and the 4 bolt pattern custom wheel option. When this kit was first introduced by MPC it was of the early '83 or '84 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. Those vehicles that shared the infamous K-Car underpinnings of the early '80's, all used 4 lug wheels, even the mini vans. So, if you were to look at the early Daytona kits you'll see that both the stock and custom wheels are 4 lug. But by '85, the Chrysler Corp. went to a more traditional 5 lug design to be better suited for the larger car platforms that were soon to come aboard like the Plymouth Caravelle and Dodge 600, so to simplify production they used the same brake parts across all the models. The reason you have that odd wheel choice in the kit is because the chrome tree was mostly a carryover from the earlier kit. MPC just updated the stock wheels to the later design and left the custom set alone. Round 2 just took what was already there and ran with it. Thanks again for your great videos, and God bless!

1987 - 88 I copied this from Wikipedia Following the Chrysler takeover of Lamborghini, product programs general manager Jack Stavana introduced a program to fit a Lamborghini Jalpa V8 into a Daytona. The motor was linked to an all-wheel drive (AWD) system designed by Lotus UK and the car was called the Decepzione. Despite its performance and media buzz generated by articles in Automobile magazine, the project was discontinued because of the engine's oil pan having just 1.5 inches (38.1 mm) of ground clearance, necessitated by the comparatively tall engine block

The V8 engine looks like a generic V8. It looks like it has Chev valve covers, but evenly spaced exhaust ports like a Ford engine. It's definitely not a small block Mopar which is weird cuz MPC had numerous small blocks tooled up they could have used in this kit.

Yeah, just a generic v8. No specific brand
