The bottom has an opening for mounting which leads into the device. I would not recommend submerging in water. The upper and sides do handle condensation very well. I’ve used this device long nights and had no issues with it getting wet by the night air.

Can you use it without IR? If you need to look thru window from inside of your house, IR won't work.

Yes, it has 3 modes. The 1st is color, 2nd is enhance, 3rd is the IR. Color mode does not use the IR light. This is device is very good for looking out from inside the home👍

@@germanshepherd6638 as a starter budget yes. Also it good to have around to check surrounding in the dark. I’ll thinking about making a video on all the devices I use for Skywatching. I do recommend this one, its budget, light weight, really good exposure, simple, and toyish fun.
