I can't imagine flying that baby after spending so much time buildin' her. Great job. Great video, with non-obnoxious music too!

You did a remarkable job in building this airplane. So much work (and blood, sweat and tears :) goes into each aircraft project. Your project is a superb work of art! I, like another person said, was surprised that you had to "load" the wings, then check for deformation. I've never had to do that. I always, like you I'm sure, followed the APPROVED plans and built to those specifications. If the designer/engineer calculated a +4 g load, with, say, 6 or 8 ultimate, I would be satisfied with that. You should be extremely proud of your project - most are never finished, due to the amount of work involved. Thanks for the video - which, by the was, was also "top drawer!" Thank you.

Thanks for reply.Im in South Africa and planning my first build.a highlander stol scratchbuild and am still busy drawing up plans and sourcing materials. One would think that stressing the wings to test the load makes sense but what if the process actually weakens the structure.nice build you did though but is there a video of the plane actually flying.would like to see.anyway thanks and happy flying.

nice build.is the weight bag wing testing method considered procedure or is that your own method you devised.

Incredibly enough, here in the North of Spain the government engineer who supervises the project makes you do that every time you make an airplane. He asked me to buy about 2000 Kg of sand bags, make a bed to rest the aircraft upside down and load it to measure the bending of the wings and possible deformation after the weight is unloaded.

If you go to my youtube channel 'vmgaspar' you can see several videos of the aircraft in flight. I wish you luck with your project. I am currently building an RV-10 of which I have almost finished the wings and completed the aft portion of the plane.
