I was thinking about getting an Icy doll but wasn’t sure, you really convinced me to, your art is so amazing!!! please keep posting!!! one of the few (and my favorite so far) Blythe/Pullip/Icy artists on youtube!!!!!!!
@bananadolls5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! Icy dolls are very nice too, at first they may seem weird, specially their lips, but their differences with Blythe dolls make them special! It's like they have their own personality, and when customized they can be very pretty!

Would love to se some body shading/contouring on the dolls as well since the faces are so beautifully detailed. Like to balance it out if you know what I mean? Love the dolls I’ve seen so far! The faces, the clothes and the styling is all gorgeous 😍

How did you make the doll's face looking so matte? I bought one with glossy face, I'd like to mak it look matte too.
@michaelreichson12805 жыл бұрын
With a light sandpaper. ♥
@bananadolls5 жыл бұрын
With a light sandpaper, yes! But sanding her will remove her make up. If you want to keep her factory makeup but make her matte, you'll have to take her apart and spray her face with a matt sealant, such as MSC, which is the common one for this! 2 or 3 light layers will do!

Hi! This is great! How do you erase the eyebrows after putting MSC? I did some work and when it was done, I wasn't satisfied with it and I want to change it. Please help :)
@bananadolls3 жыл бұрын
I never spray until I'm 100% satisfied 😁 I erased the pencil lines with a bit of water, as it wasn't fixed yet!

Can I please ask - I’d love to make one for myself. What are the tools I would need ? As well as makeup etc ? xx
@bananadolls4 жыл бұрын
To start you would need some carving tools (the dremel makes things easier, but it's not necessary), watercolor pencils, chalk pastels, some brushes, and the most important, a sealant! I have liquid sealants and I apply them with an airbrush, but you can use spray sealants, such as MSC for example. I put links to the materials I use on the description box 😁

Interesting. Are you adding any putty? Or are your carving just the existing plastic of the face?
@bananadolls5 жыл бұрын
No putty on this one! You can add up, I usually use epoxy clay, but only in particular cases. This girl only has the existing plastic carved 😁

Is MSC (Mister Super Clear) hard to use? Any tips? I'm wanting to get into customizing Blythe dolls, but I'm worried about the sealant spray as I hear it is very toxic.
@bananadolls3 жыл бұрын
Its is quite toxic! And you don't realize it as you spray, because of its sweet smell 🤣 always wear protection and spray outside! It's not hard, just use very light layers, don't get the head wet with spray, and spray about 30cm away from it. Also avoid using it if the weather is too cold or too humid, it might leave white spots or a weird finish 😦

How do you prepare the face to begin painting. Do you do something to the face before adding colors
@bananadolls5 жыл бұрын
First it's a lot of sanding, which goes along with the carving process, and then 2 or 3 layers of sealant, to protect the plastic and to create a nicer surface for the paint to stick 😊 I put some text on the video explaining this, it's small on the top.

Hello, I love your carving of the lips 👄. I wanted to ask, why do you carve the eye holes? Thank you !
@bananadolls5 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I do that so the lids have enough space to move and don't get scratched once I put them back! I damaged newly painted lids so many times, I learned the hard way 😁

this is original blythe?? i want to buy one from aliexpress... but iam not sure for the quality
@bananadolls5 жыл бұрын
No, it's not! Most of the dolls I use are from aliexpress!! Just make sure the hair looks abundant, and if it's a jointed body, that it is NOT shiny. There are many sellers with awesome quality! There are differences with original dolls, though, the faces are different, it's not very noticeable at first, but with time you do see it 😊

Question what if you don't have a dremmel? Am I tottaly screwed
@bananadolls5 жыл бұрын
Not much! Dremel just makes it easier and faster, but you can totally do it with plain carving tools 😊

A Blythe é linda, feminina, doce e legal! Show up!

One thing i dont like about those kind of doll is that their heas i a bit too big, i get it, is a chibi doll, but even chibis have their proporcions and that head is way too big for that tiny body
@bananadolls5 жыл бұрын
I don't really think they're chibi, they're really out of proportion, and to be honest, the shape of the head is weird 😆 I actually used to think they were so ugly when I first saw them, and now I love them! I love all the posibilities they offer! They are an acquired taste 😆
