An apprentice at the 397 in Tampa. I feel you on your excitement. Becoming a welder and then an ironworker is the best thing i've ever done for myself. 25 now and feeling like i have a future and a career and learning something every day. I also stay in the gym, kudos to you, i know it can be hard resting your body when you're working 10s and shit

Mr. Mark had come a long way from the guy I hired and wrote the acceptance/work promise letter for to get in the trade. He was a good man and has a good family as well he’s a guy I never regretted helping to get in the trade and he really impressed everybody on his first job I had him on. The first foreman I put him with loved him right away and the guys taught him so much he quickly became a great hand and was even a truck foreman out here in CA before he turned out and became a JIW! I think he got that truck at like 6th period or something but that just goes to show the brother was doing his thing man great guy right there! What a sad day it was man! It’s funny this video popped up on my feed and while watching it I saw Mark lol small world

A steel worker makes the alloy that is steel. Iron Workers fabricate and erect it.

Whats the easiest way to get into your local union. I hear it's tough to get in. They are super picky. I'm going to trade school for stick SMAW welding. I have my OSHA 10, 30, and 40 HAZWOP. Need to get aws certified and even then I feel like it's a crap shoot

Why didn't yall dump the water out of the stair pans before you brought them in the building?
