No problem, that is only to release the suction mount socket. You push the socket in and slide it down.

I have a TomTom Blue & Me 2 GPS and already changed the battery Dec 2021 and now my GPS is not turning on after working since 2021 and this model came with my FIAT 500 2015. Do I just need another new battery? Or where can I send it to fix? TomTom is not repairing them. I am BC Canada.

Hi, the navigation device should work with an external power source even if the installed battery is no longer holding a charge. So the fact that it is not powering up tells me the unit itself is either defective, or the power supply cable is bad. Try a different power supply cord to see if it will make a difference.

@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 It won't go on with the charging cable connected to my lap top. This unit does is not a live model and does not have a SD card. I am wondering if its not the battery but something else. It worked until the other day. I have two power cords neither worked. Both cords are the same model.

@@4HimalayanCats I think the main board has gone bad, in which case it is not really worth repairing, because you can get a replacement at a lower price than fixing this one.

Thank you, to change the name at start up you can change the splash screen or the factory reset the unit and enter y your own name.

Yes it's very easy. You simply hook it up to your computer and upload an image in bitmap format with dimensions of 480x272 and you have to name it splashw. The image file must be in root directory

How do you get to settings on the 730

Based on which operating system is loaded on your GPS getting to the sittings is different. Because TomTom is not like Garmin the software user interface is different with each Navicore version. So to tell you exactly the answer to your question I am going to need your NavCore version. To find this info you simply click on the bottom right corner of the screen and it will tell you the version of your software aka " Navcore" on the right side under the battery info.

Hello. I have a tomtom go 730. There’s no sd card on it,when i turn it on it only shows that there’s no sd card and I can’t have access to the main menu. Is this normal? I’ll have to buy a sd card,which one is the right one for this model? Also is there an option to download Brazil’s map on this tomtom model? Would be great if you help me with this questions. Hi, no this is not normal because it should work just fine even without the SD Card. The TomTom GO 730 has it's operating system aka " NavCore" installed on it's internal memory. So it appears that in your case the navcores on the internal memory has been damaged and needs to be reinstalled.

Hi, you must plug it on to your computer and use TomTom Home to update the firmware to version 9.5 or higher. Only then you will get full Satellite reception.

You can get them free at any GPS forum, but I don't recommend getting the free ones, because they are hosted on shady websites infested with viruses, adware, and spyware.
