Full Disneyland 60th anniversary announcement - parade, World of Color, fireworks

On May 22, 2015, Disneyland Resort is set to begin a Diamond Celebration for their 60th anniversary with three new nighttime shows debuting: a new World of Color show, a Paint the Night Parade and Disneyland Forever projection and fireworks show. This is the full announcement from Jan. 28 2015, including a preview of the projections on Main Street.

The number of let down comments is slightly annoying. We haven't seen anything that they have done yet, and we are seeming to forget that four attractions are being refurbished completely. Soarin' is getting completely redone, and we have no idea what it might bring, it could be amazing. Also with innovententions down as well they might put some pretty cool things in. Peter Pan and Matterhorn is probably just getting their normal needed refurbishment, but I'm excited to see Soarin' when it reopens, and whatever other surprises Grizzly Peak Airfield will yield.

WDW’s 50th is gonna be so much better tbh. They already have a bunch of stuff planned: A renovation to Epcot, a new ratittouio attraction, a new tron coaster. A awesome refurb to BTM using Disneyland’s special effects, a new firework show coming to Epcot, A beautiful castle refurb in Magic Kingdom which will be like Disneyland’s 50th, Mickeys Runaway Railway, In general next year Disney World will outshine Disneyland with all their new stuff that they added for the 50th and 60th. This is gonna be awesome.

The performance attractions are just like broadway shows. Mostly all of them have an out of town try out to see how people reacted to the performance and see what kinks and changes had to be made before bringing it to the grander stage. I believe that everything is going to be incredible. I highly doubt that Disney is going to bring these shows to such a big event being exactly the same as they were in Hong Kong or Paris.

I think the way disney magic transforms Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure And Sleeping Beauty Castle into a diamond statue, A new World Of Color show called World Of Color Celebrate : The Wonderful World Of Walt Disney, A new LED parade called Paint The Night, And a new pyrotechnic show that has pyrotechnics all over Disneyland Park called Disneyland Forever

Musicradio77 Television Network a 50th anniversary would be a GOLD anniversary. Diamond is reserved for a 60th Anniversary. the 55th anniversary is Emerald if you're wondering. dance0328, No they didn't. WDW doesn't have a World of Color, Hatbox Ghost, Matterhorn, or brand new light parade.

Total letdown. That's not even a new parade, it's from Hong Kong! Not even a new attraction!? Disneyland does deserve better! At least they didn't mess with FANTASMIC!

There are expansions planned for DLR. The main issue is money. DL Shanghai is way over budget plus the MyMagic at WDW set them back a cool $1.5 billion so if you are disappointed then blame the accountants in Burbank at the corporate office. The finance dept gives the final say in everything. Disney just held their shareholders meeting here in San Francisco. They told the investors that there are plans for park expansions that will be either Star Wars or Marvel related. My guess it will be both. The shown in the video have all been done elsewhere. The projections have been at WDW on the castle for years but the Florida castle is a lot taller and bigger. It's hard to see projections in California if you are standing way down Main Street whereas in Florida you can see them even from a distance. Paint the night was brought over from Hong Kong. World of color while original in the way it is done in Cali in a lagoon had somewhat already been tested in Paris in their moat in front of the castle. DL Paris couples a water show with their fireworks so in some ways WOC is a bigger version of that.

WorldOfExcitementE That strawberry field they bought years ago was supposed to be the new park area. But now its the toy story lot. Since they are boxed in its gonna take a lot of work for them to expand again. They would probably have to expand the monorail(remember DisneySea California they thought of expanding the monorail all the way to Long Beach so down the street probably wouldn't be a prob), need new parking for cast and guests. The Garden Walk would have been a good start in acquiring more of the surrounding area but they did not purchase it when it went up for sale a few years ago. They did buy the RV lot on harbor though and started on new cast parking there so i guess thats a start... tiny baby steps New Park= 2047?(I figure that since DCA opened 46 years after DL did.)

Johnny17369 Yea... but so far people arent expecting much like they were 2 years ago when they rumors really kicked up speed. Just updated dark rides and Matterhorn no new attractions and maybe the fabled return of the Hatbox Ghost at Haunted Mansion. There was a rumor of Star Wars Land coming but then that was canceled(according to "sources") because of MyMagic+ going waayy overbudget at WDW. The things they announced so far everyone already knew them(wasnt much of a surprise) parade from HKDL, new world of color, amazing fireworks show(just cant have an anniversary w/o that). All these things are great I just think that seeing as there wouldnt be Disney Parks all over the world if Walt hadnt created DL that the park deserves better "gifts" for its major birthdays(the 20ths, 50ths, 100ths:)

The firework show is nice but it has nothing to do with Disneyland. For example. The Remember Dreams come true fireworks was like a tour around Disneyland like E-Tickets but with fireworks!! Disneyland forever is just Disney Movies. And trust me. It’s beautiful but not relating to Disneyland. Wishes (formally) sticked To the theme “Wishes” it was great! 10/10 fireworks. But Disneyland forever just didn’t shout out Disney enough..

Disneyland Forever was the show that tributed Walt the best. Disney Enchantment didnt say The world disney one time. Disneyland Forever was a great anniversary show.

i should explain that I'm disappointed with the fact that it's generally kind of small. oh sure we're bringing back an old thing again. and we're getting two new night time things but a the end yeah kind of disappointed with this no new ride or attractions kind of a bummer. then again maybe 75th something big will happen

The 60th Anniversary offerings are a HUGE disappointment. The Fireworks make no since and are redundant, World of Color Celebrate is boring & makes no sense, and there's not even a new ride to make up for all the lame entertainment offerings. The "Paint The Night" parade is good but the name makes no sense and there's no show stop. The new Yeti effects on Matterhorn are good & so is the Hatbox ghost, and the new Grizzly peak Airfield looks nice but those are hardly worth paying $100 to see & they didn't even bother to retheme the interior of Soarin'. Once again Disney you disappoint us.

The new rides? What new rides? They didn't build a new ride. The park was still crowded even before the 60th began because DL is a hangout for locals & Disney fans. Disney fans are such losers. Disney could decorate their park in glitter covered turds & advertise it like something new to see & the fans would still defend it & pretend to like it.
