1 - The new defense attorneys are allowed to stay, and the objection (from the State and/or from the Markel family to Judge Fulford representing Donna was overruled ); 2 - The new attorneys have received all raw discovery materials without getting any notes from prior counsel; 3 - The new attorneys have not yet received the transcripts of all depositions taken by prior counsel for Donna, but will receive them by Feb. 11, 2025; 4 - All depositions the defense intends to take must be set by Feb. 11, 2025; 5 - Defense counsel suggested that they could be ready for trial by mid-June, but Judge Everett will decide on a firm trial date at the February case management (unless otherwise agreed upon by everyone before then); 6 - The Defense attorneys have not spoken to the investigators hired by prior defense counsel in order to avoid infecting themselves with the same apparent conflict issue that Judge Everett used to justify removing prior counsel, and they asked Judge Everett if the investigators can stay - Judge Everett agreed to speak to them in camera (in Chambers, in private) to see if they had been exposed to information about Charles Adelson's defense - the Judge is likely to disqualify them unless he feels 100% sure that the investigators were not "infected" by the same conflict issue he found when he disqualified Alex Morris from the case. 7 - Bottom line - Trial is likely to happen this Summer or in the Fall.

Lesson on how to screw up your life totally. These were seemingly intelligent people, I still can't figure out what got into them. Charlie is definitely the bad apple, I think he pushed momma into it, yet she never seemed to have any doubts, from the evidence of her phone calls at least, she never tells Charlie "why did you get me involved in this?" or implies anything similar. Maybe it was folie a deux, they both fed off each other's evil sides.

All defense material, ie notes from the investigation conducted by defense investigators must be turned over to the new attorneys also. In Camera inspection by judge will cure any potential conflict issue.
