My doctor was so overwhelmed during our last visit and complained of all the paper work she had to do later. Made me feel uncomfortable and like I should rush through the appointment. She should definitely think about utilizing this

This is something I'd be very interested in doing. It's not everyone's cup of tea but I love anatomy and physiology. The pay should be a little higher since it saves the doctor ALOT of work as the wife attested to. Also in this demonstration, the doctor is talking TO the Scribe with a projected loud voice but would he be as clear if he's just speaking in natural tone interacting with the patient? What if the Scibe does not hear the details spoken with a lower tone? How does the confidentiality work with this? I'm certain the Scribe is vetted for trustworthiness and another positive thing is she cannot physically see the patient which probably makes the patient more at ease especially when talking about sensitive medical matters. Is the documentation "encrypted" back to the doctor's office securing the doctor patient confidentiality? Scribe is certainly a great tool for doctors whose typing skills might be slow and a constant distraction from his patient. Overall, good idea. The pay of the scribe should be higher and obviously not for use in a very small town where everyone knows everyone else. The guy gave enough information that any scribe would know who it was.

It’s ok for the scribe to know who he is, they are part of the clinical team and because they are HIPAA compliant, they are not allowed to discuss anything about the patient except with other medical professionals, the same as any nurses in the office.

Pay should be $25.00 minimum. You're asking the scribes to think and write with medical knowledge and intuition. Their knowledge goes beyond fast food menus and fryer temperature settings.

Confident everyone in the industry wishes the math worked better for the workforce, but AQuity does pay in the same range as other vendors while simultaneously having much better benefits, including a matching 401K. And if you ever met Dr. Weiss, which I have on multiple occasions, you would think he is a really great guy who just happens to be a warmhearted country doctor.

Scribing is distracting to both the physician and patient. It's going back to square one.

We have thousands of doctors and correspondingly hundreds of thousands of patients that would disagree. Watch Chapter 6 of the Physician Wellness series, titled 'Patients Reaction to Virtual Scribes' and hear from providers themselves. Onsite scribes can certainly be distracting, but AQuity does not offer those. We only provide Virtual Scribes.

In reality the Dr is not going to keep talking to the Scribe. He will proceed as normal and the Scribe will have to pay attention and document. Ots better than the Dr staring at the computer and not the patient.

@@tiffanycheyanne4240 Our pediatric doctor uses a scribe, and he says hi and does exactly what this doctor did. He says it saves him time and helps look into the chart of my kids so he can know on the spot what needs to be done. It's a wonderful service.
