That attitude toward her life is exactly why she died the first time. Also, with her incredible, skills she should have made herself so plain that she was just almost unnoticeable and made connections with with everyone quietly over the years without standing out, and just being boring. Then even at her coming of age she would have been invisible. She wasted 10+ years.....

The story is kind of ruined by the artist not actually making any of the characters ugly. There's no difference between when they're "ugly" or "beautiful" with makeup, they look exactly the same throughout the story.

Maybe the author is working with the understanding that make-up we're used to now might be considered gaudy when such colors and styles were different in the time period this seems to portray? Like, they think she's ugly by nobility standards, but really she looks fine to use because we're used to this? I've noticed she puts in freckles which by today's standards are considered cute, but in many period pieces across cultures, fair, unblemished skin is considered paramount so that might be a big factor.🤷🏾‍♀️

@@daniellamalcolm7328 The boy literally detailed her "ugly" features being crooked eyebrows, dark circles, and other things to make her unattractive with the makeup up. The artist was just too lazy to draw any of it. Same goes for the duke, he's supposed to be "ugly" and there's no difference when he isn't and isn't wearing any makeup. They don't even draw freckles on him.

@@LadyLime100 Well I think they might have intended for the colors to look like she was trying to cover the dark circles with color. In some instances at the beginning, I did think the pink and orange eye shadow looked close to bruised eyes so I could kind of see that? As for the duke and the kid, they have very minor freckles about the eyes that are hard to see, but I think the problem is more so that they didn't do a good job of making it prominent or obvious to people who are used to such things( the viewer/reader). I agree they didn't do a convincing job, as everyone looks fine regardless, but I can kind of see some of the traits you mentioned even though it's much more minor than it should be. I also noticed that some of the images are edited, like in one or two frames, it would seem like a normal image during a conversation with multiple people, but the FL's head was gone, like the image got pinched there. I don't know if that was on purpose or not, but I think all around somethings are a bit wonky.

It's based off of the natural regency era. when wearing old elizabethan fashion frills and too much makeup was seen as ugly. We go through natural and makeup looks every era it's what ages us when we stick to certain fashions.

@@ladynavarre9474 The characters detailed the features in which the MC was ugly, which wasn't reflected in the art illustrations at all. The artist was just lazy. They even said she padded her dress with cotton to make her look fat, yet that isn't depicted in the art at all. What's written in dialogue isn't shown in illustration, which takes away from the story.

Well maybe this recap doesn't explain all the laws of this world. So, by general deduction of fantasy noblesse and inheritance, the inheritance usually passes down to the young master of the family even if not of a direct bloodline, if they're are no male heirs. She has no other siblings, and taking into account that she was considered a minor before, she couldn't possibly take the inheritance. After her coming of age, that is a whole nother level of legal issues since her cousin has established his status, he is the only young master, he has to willingly give up or by law, and she has no power to back her up. Unless she is able to raise an army to fight for her, she would have to marry a powerful noble who is willing to give her an ounce of his authority. But honestly if that were to happen, the inheritance of a Barony isn't worth it and probably isn't as valuable to her anyway in comparison to her goals. And her appearance? She probably hasn't appeared in public since her transmigration, so her altered appearance would appear as ugly as she wanted. (I feel proud as a certified yapper)

Yeah the point is that this is a magical world and mamy of our beauty standards are as dumb as hating freckles. (Also, although I would not say freckles are hated in today's society, I somehow still got bullied for having freckles as a child)

Very good story. Like the parts that focus on family and the positive influence that Lila has had on the Duke and his nephew Michael. Neither the Duke, Michael, nor Lila (in her maded up persona) can be considered ugly. Apparently in this fantasy world, a person who has a freckle, mole, pimple, etc., is considered ugly and are openly ridiculed and treated with distain. Liked how Lila was able to help Michael get past the negative self image created by his own mother. There were several scenes near the end that were a little confusing. Seemed to be missing transition dialog. Regardless, look forward to the next part.

6/10 pretty good story. From enduring hate to living well with her new family. The antagonists weren't overly annoying too. There's even a happy ending to thie recap, instead of a cliffhanger. There was an issue with images and text not matching for a few minutes, a few small parts might've been skipped, and the voice changes several times.

She should just made herself too plain but also too invaluable to her cousin by assisting him while he ran the barony. I think that the bond between them would've been strong and he would've wanted to protect her so that he could continue to make profit from her ideas. If there was even small possibility she should have gotten him on her side from the beginning instead isolating herself by purposefully making people dispise her. The whole household was fully frustrated with her because they knew she was doing it on purpose...

This trashy manhwa was discontinued for a reason you shouldn’t have bothered with this recap. It’s a colourist story the only difference between the before and after was the change is skin tone and the freckles. the plot is shiyt and characters lack substance.
