SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT FINISHED ENDWALKER OR WATCHED THE WHOLE VIDEO YET I just realized the whole talk about the memory manipulation enchantment was foreshadowing for what happened in Elpis to emet selch and hythlodaeus. Hythlodaeus remembered us from our time on elpis the moment he died and returned to the aetherial sea, but emet selch had no idea, as the enchantment was still on him. The moment he died he remembered, and that’s why he helped us against elidibus, and later in ultima thule. This level of setup blew my god damn mind.

I had that mind blown moment as well when I was thinking of everything in Shadowbringers. It's absolutely insane how much foreshadowing and forethought that went into this story. I'm so excited how they'll blow our minds with the next story.

well more specifically Hythlo didn't remember us when we first met him for real (on the moon) because his soul was held by Zodiark and never had the chance to get washed clean in the aetherial sea, but afterwards he remembered

Love the fact that when we first meet Meteion she wants to "(hear) our words, (feel) our emotions and know our thoughts (think)" Fucking hydalen was always warning / leading us to her from the beginning, since venat was the only other to remember us after Elpis.

It's interesting how when we first fight venat in elpis, it was her testing us for our worthiness to ride argos. Then, when we fight her again as hydaelyn, it was her testing us for our worthiness to fight meteion.

Now for my point of curiosity - what happens if you kill Sandy while they're charging Delta Attack, before she can finish casting Manusya Reflect? In FF4, you could take her out to stop her from putting Reflect up (or dispel the Reflect, but One Ilm Punch isn't a thing anymore.)

@xanmontes8715 He is simple on the surface in that he was an unapologetic hedonist battle maniac. He made no excuses for doing what he did because he had no grand designs. He just loved to fight. At least that's how he was portrayed. But they _could_ have made him complicated. He was a product of the Empire and the war. He was clearly a psychopath on some level, and they used him and his bloodlust to win many battles. And, in the end, he destroyed the Empire that created him. Not out of any desire for vengeance, because he didn't view himself as a victim, but because it served him and his desires. He did it all to give his life, and eventually his death, meaning. Because no one else in his life was ever his equal. Much less his better. He did it to _feel_ something. To have a purpose. To experience. To live. The story is so simple, though you can dig in deeper and I find that extremely satisfying.

Spoilers: I think I just realized why Elidibus says he saw us in Elpis, even though we never see him. Since he was the heart of Zodiark he had the memories and hopes of all the people used to summon him, including Hythlodaeus.
