It is fascinating that Maya is a high society woman. But what is more fascinating that she is Gujarati, Ratna Pathak Shah plays the role of a Gujarati woman in such a smooth way, you can see specs of her brilliant acting all through the show. Like the moment when she was singing a Gujarati song, it was so effortless. One of the most brilliant actors in the industry. No wonder the show is so popular

This episode is another testimony as to how the show was very ahead of its times. The fact that they humurously touched upon the aspect that even a man can be harassed by a woman, is very commendable. This is because in those days, the general perception was that only a man can harass a woman and the opposite scenario was absolutely unthinkable. This episode resonates a lot more today, as we see a rapid and steady increase in CRIMES AGAINST MEN, including harassment of men by women. Yet even today nobody talks about men's rights. There isnt a national, state, district level commission for men. Barring a few personalities and NGOs (Ms Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, for instance), nobody else stands up for men. Hats off to the makers of this show for subtly discussing the aspect of harassment of men by women! Maybe Indravadans habits are dirty and he needs to change them for the better, but the way Maya deals with him is way too heavy handed, even if humorous. Plus shes forcing him to agree to terms just to live in his own home. Also a lot of these terms have no relation to his habits. If this was not a comedy show on TV, this would clearly qualify as harassment in real life.

Yes, keeping bouncers and throwing him out of the house is wrong and disrespectful bit don't compare this with middle class families. You noticed this but didn't notice that 1. after marriage Sahil lives with his wife in a different house 2.Maya and Indravadan don't expect Monisha to do their seva 3.They didn't ask for dowry whereas in 90-95% of the marriages in middle class dowry is given 4.They allowed their children to marry as per their choice. 5. Maya doesn't expect Monisha to earn money and do all the household chores altogether. 6.Maya is willing to provide domestic help, cook etc for Monisha (although she doesn't earn so should do these things herself) Are these reforms implemented in middle class families even today ? Things are different in their society. Upper middle class even today doesn't have this kind of lifestyle. Moreover, i agree that Maya is dominating but in an earlier episode Indravadan said i would have beaten you up black and blue because i am an Indian man which shows he is a misogynist. He would have exploited Maya if she was some innocent woman. You don't know the reasons behind court cases, how judicial proceeding are carried out, what is acquittal done in case of failure of establishment of case by prosecution due to lack of evidences and what is 'honourable acquittal' and what "compounding of offence" is. And Deepika Narayan Bharadwaj is a cunning woman who is using the frustration of unemployed, misogynist men who are getting rejected by every woman due ti various reasons for her benefit. She shows things selectively. She had about 15,000 subscribers 2 months back and now has 60,000 and earning big money. She has noticed the current developing in the society and monetising it. The false cases are very low in numbers in reality.

Its the most modern sort of comedy with no nuisance at all ,all the characters are funny people with no saas bahu drama ,plus the fact that i loved about this show was it was full fledged comedy with no sad stupid emotional scenes to make it a drama. Monisha and indravadan relationship is the best and maya being not likd the typical saas who interferes in their bahus life too much ( like maya has only problem with monisha for unhygienic practices at house,misery, not keeping the place with basic cleanliness and tidiness ,behaving carelessly etc which is totally understandable) there are times maya has supported monisha. Discussing problems like erectile dysfunction openly with mother like its so cool. Best cult classic show which was way ahead of its time.
