I only started staying in relationships too long after losing my vision. I was so afraid that my vision loss would negatively impact my kid’s quality of life. Like Tamar I never went backwards but definitely stayed too long. My kid is a teenager now and we have talked about this subject. I’ve encouraged her to be healthy so she don’t have to depend on anyone. She went from 175lbs to 125lbs and is now 15, honor roll student, treasurer of Black Student Union and a varsity cheerleader. She has changed her present and future life.I dated a guy when she was 2-5 years old. He helped me move cross country for a job. He started acting weird and didn’t seem any closer to my kid. I encouraged him to go visit his family for a few weeks. While he was gone, I turned off his phone, changed my number and all social media. Never seen him again.

Ahhw Regina, I think of her often. I hope she is getting the support and love she needs during this time.. The therapy and the healing)as far as that is possible. I really hope she can laugh every now and then. May God be with her heart.
