Ring of Honor (ROH) is a professional wrestling promotion recently acquired by Tony Khan, CEO of AEW, Chief Football Strategy Officer of the Jacksonville Jaguars and GM/Sporting Director of Fulham F.C. The acquisition, which was completed through an entity that is wholly-owned by Tony Khan, included ROH’s extensive video library dating back to 2002, brand assets, intellectual property, production equipment and more.
With more than 20 years of rich wrestling history, ROH has launched the careers of numerous AEW stars, including CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Hangman Page, Dr. Britt Baker, Adam Cole, Samoa Joe, among others. I'm still trying to understand what the Hell is happening. I hope and pray that ROH comes back in April. But if they don't I have almost ever dvd they put out and in my house ROH will live on

Basically ROH their parent company told them they have to cut costs the pandemic caused a bit of it they are doing tv tapings in November then in dec doing final battle ppv then they will show matches never seen before on tv from dec till april while they reorganize and pivot and afe basically going back to being n indy fed with no wrestlers under contract so when ever tbey have shows tbey will grab the best indy talent out their and use them on a per match fee basis we will still get good ROH quality wrestling and they do the shows and ppvs a lot cheaper back when ROH started in 2002 thats how they ran things used the best indy talent going on a per match basis fee and had no wrestlers under contract so that is whats happening

A example is we have shows this month on the 5th 10th 19th 22nd and a ppv on the 31st they see what indy wrestlers they want and ,lock em down for those dates to me its a plus in a way as the indy scene will flourish again tought for anyone to try and go up against companies with lots if money like AEW and WWE so guys on the indys wrestle for many companies and will add ROH to the pool of promotions they take bookings from and they will book smaller arenas most times like 400 to 600 seat arenas depending on the market they are in

Sinclair isn't hurting for money though....they're a billion and some company. Thanks to the election and political ads they're 4th quarter in 2020 was nearly at 2019 levels and with the reopening of everything in Q1 of 2021 and pro baseball starting up in the spring coupled with their association with Ballys and online betting they're on an uplift not seen since pre-pandemic. This is a company that has hundreds of millions in operating costs and hundreds of millions in revenue making it a fortune 500 company and again, a billion dollar company. I don't know if this is a political move to oust Joe Koff? I haven't heard what his future holds and if upon the return of ROH Koff is gone I don't know that it will be because he's working in another capacity for Sinclair. If he's gone then I'd say he's gone. AEW and limited/horrible time slots and ZERO advertising within the Sinclair Broadcast Group has really hurt ROH. Remember when Impact Wrestling was kicked off of Destination America after the first quarter and then eventually Destination America added ROH the same night and ROH even beat Impact in the ratings here and there and the majority of people believed it was the decline of Impact and the rise of ROH. SINCLAIR owned the company then too. But ultimately Ring of Honor was a passion project for Cary Silken and he'd been losing money FOR YEARS so I don't know how Sinclair could have made any money given they greatly improved production values...maybe not immediately but eventually they did. Losing all their big talents to AEW meant locking talent into long term contracts and I'm not even sure if they haven't reopened doors to fans purposely because they had been drawing so poorly. For whatever reason they haven't had fans return is a bit ridiculous at this point as EVERY other big promotion has. It'll be interesting to see where talent like Flip Gordon, Jay Lethal, The Briscoed, EC3, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, Dalton Castle and Silas Young etc end up...though many ROH talents are indy bound. I think I feel most sorry for Bobby Cruise and Todd Sinclair and I hope they land on their feet on National TV with another BIG. But Sinclair COULD easily eat the losses and in fact quadruple them by investing in BIG NAME FREE AGENTS if they wanted too...Sadly ROH was just a losing investment for them. Time to cut losses. Thank you Cary Silken, Gabe Sapolsky, Doug Gentry, Adam Pearce and even Jim Cornette.

@@mkpalmer99 On Halloween NGW held an event. I'll give you the script of what happened. Danhausen was partnering with Warhorse as WarHausen against Renegades of Flight which consists of Facade and Jason Kincaid. Danhausen broke it during the match. Mance Warner suffered an injury to his foot as well in a seperate match and I believe broke the same bones. A redditor specified that Danhausen "was in the corner when one of his opponents did a coast to coast and landed on his left leg. Danhausen grabbed it almost immediately. He laid on the apron of the ring for the rest of the match and they carried him to the back after Warhorse won." In all several fans said he sustained the injury when someone doing a coast-to-coast move landed on his leg.

They specifically said , it may take a team not under contract outside the promotion to win the 6 man title. AEW has been hinting at a trio's title for a while and since the ROH roster is free to do whatever and Tony Kahn is rumored to be interested in ROH or at least the video catalog , we may get Shane Taylor Promotions defending against an AEW team very soon. Much like the way the NWA women's title was featured in AEW.

It would be great if the ROH Six-Man Tag Champs were on Rampage and that title at least for now is also recognized as the AEW Trios Championship. Rather then starting a whole new championship in AEW. Shane Taylor Promotions defending those belts on Rampage or Dynamite if Sinclair allows them to keep the physical titles would be exciting.
