She says "hey I saw x paper and it said y thing" Well he will come along and say "no no no you're misunderstanding *actually* it said z thing you're remembering it wrong, you're so silly sometimes". Him changing the date on the paper is a good example of that. Repeating this song and dance over and over, until she reaches a point where she starts to question her own judgement. The abuser aka him. Denies, belittles or trivializes her for the sole purpose of disorienting her.
