It truly surprises me when companies change their products for whatever reason, even if it is for "health" issues, but completely ruin the formula. Like, who approves those changes and decides that the new formula is good enough? It has happened to me with sunscreens before where the new formula is so bad in comparison.

Talc is not inherently dangerous. It’s the third parties manufacturing the ingredient that have been operating despite the presence of asbestos in their facilities. Its so frustrating that they cant bring their facilities up to date. Talc is not the problem

it's for capitalism babes. not for our health lol! they don't want to be sued for the talc. insurance companies are hesitant to insure companies that use talc so it's to serve their own bottom line.

some reasons for changing formulations also are: (1) changing regulations. Sometimes the regulatory view on ingredients change, so the formulations have to change, even if neither the company nor the customer wants it to. (2) bad reputation: Even if we don‘t, some consumers will steer away from talc due to the press it has been getting, therefore declining interest/sales (3) availability of ingredients. Sometimes specific ingredients are just not available anymore or the price skyrockets for various reasons (e.g., global warming, war). Needless to say, if the new product is so far from the og that noone wants it anymore, both the R&D and the product manager did a shit job.

Idk if many people do this, but I use the Hourglass blush on bare skin, not over foundation. It does work beautifully then. It’s so good for a fast, clean girl look with a lip tint and a dab of concealer.

Allana, I loved the OG givenchy powder... I wanted to share with you that I have been recently loving Laura Mercier's (specifically!) "secret brightening powder for under eyes" -- I feel like it is very similar in texture and in being extremely light for under eyes... maybe too light weight for the t-zone for combo or oily... but I have been LOVING this loose powder to set under my eyes. Just an FYI if you are on the hunt now...

The amount is also a factor. For example, darker shades have more pigment and less mica, making them more matte than lighter ones

I've used the Givenchy powder for 8 years and genuinely don't know what else I'll use. Didn't like the huda powder, hourglass, Chanel, Laura mercier 🥲 I've tried the new Givenchy and it's truly awful, looked like I had metallic eyeshadow under my eyes!

Rephr came out with concealer and foundation brushes specifically for cream application. I’d highly recommend them, especially the concealer brush. It allows you to to use a little less product, have a more natural or undetectable application. Feels like in between a brush and using your fingers. It’s quickly become my favourite and makes make products work better If you’re looking for new powders, my absolute favourite is glossier wowder. I also have the pat mcgrath under eye one, the one Taylor Swift uses. That one can be more matifying and blurring but takes a minute to work out how heavy handed you to put enough to make a difference but not too much to be cakey😅

I bought the Hourglass Liquid Blush in Whim also. Very pigmented on application, barely lasted 3 hours and then completely gone 😢 Definitely will try the Huda blush now. Looks beautiful on you ❤️

It’s to avoid liability. Even though it’s unlikely anyone will get sick from talc in cosmetics, companies don’t want to risk getting sued. Unfortunately the most common substitute for talc is mica, which is very shimmery

After trying all the loose powders I keep going back to my beloved Huda loose powder, in my little makeup world nothing compares to that lol.. you are looking beautiful though and yes huda’s blush also looked more cute but that is just because hourglass was alot more pigmented, maybe some other colour will be more suitable as I have seen some amazing reviews on those blushes 😊

I was hesitant last week to try the Real and reveal tinted moisturizer from Sephora.. I was like, should I wait for the sale in the fall? It's not expensive but i haven't seen any reviews, I don't really need another tint..and then I thought but if Allana talks about it in one of her videos I wont be able to get my color so I got it! Of course on the treadmill this morning watching your latest you talk about it!!! Fiou! Thank the makeup Gods, I got it last week and I love it! It's amazing honestly. I wish you could tell us the difference between this tint and the Lisa Eldridge one..Impossible to get my shade until October! I am really happy with it and it layers really well and it is undetectable! Have you tried the Spehora gel lip liner in the shade In the nudest? It is a cool beige I love it but it is kind a creamy so if you don't like that I guess you wouldn't like it. Color is on point tho...
