My skin type is the same as yours, liquid highlighter works better when I use my fingers to blend it out! It also works better on lighter, thinner foundations rather than a thicker, full coverage one😅

That unicorn shit you used at the start: I agree it’s not worth 50 quid but i got a mini one in Sephora when I was in America for about $10/15 or something like that and I think it’s absolutely amazing because I have really really really oily skin and since I’ve been using it my face seems far less oily thought the day and lasts a lot longer

Hazel Mclaughlin if you put the liquid highlight at the back of your hand and swirl it around with a finger to warm the product up then tap it onto your skin with your finger it will soak into your skin and look amazing ! You should try that ! Xx

I love the benefit watts up cream highlighter, it doesn’t separate on top of powder, or freshly applied wet foundation. It’s amazing!! I use it as a base for powder highlight !

I felt the same exact way about the Maybelline matte and poreless! I have very oily skin like you and I was expecting it to be life changing. When I use a liquid foundation my go to is the L’Oréal infallible pro matte. Now THAT foundation was life changing for me!

A very helpful video, thanks! With cream highlight I think it helps to first spread it on the back of your hand and then dip in with a wet beauty sponge and apply to the face. I love NYX Strobe of Genius applied this way!

I’ve always fucked up the part with liquid highlighter, you need to put a powder highlighter on top so your powders won’t get stuck in it! I really like drop highlighters tho!

With the Cover Fx drops I drop a few drops on the back of my hand and use my finger to warm it up then tap it on with my finger. I used to have the same problem with it lifting my foundation with a sponge and brush but since I’ve been doing this is sits so beautifully and is one of my favourite highlighters ☺️ xx

I never had the issue with the cover fx drops messing up my base but I do prefer them when I mix a drop or two into my foundation. My Estee Lauder Double Wear is my holy grail foundation but my issue with it is that it's fairly matte and it can cling to my texture. So I'll add a drop of strobe cream from mac and then a drop of the enhancer drops and it turns out amazingggg :)

I find the fit me foundation is only good when you use it as a mixer. I use 220 when I have fake tan on with the loreal infallible matte, & 110 with loreal infallible matte when I'm pale. It also helps make a pink foundation look yellow. Hence why I use it with infallible cos it's too pink & slightly dark on me when I ain't fake tanned. Just something I thought you might like to try out! Xx

I totally agree with the farsali serum thing and kylie's lipkits/liquid lipsticks. I can find Korean brand/k-beauty skincare for one third of that price that basically does the same things. I think it's only selling point is that it's pink? So when you do those short instagram tutorials/videos, people can see it. And for the kylie lipkits, its just more worth the money to get colourpop, especially when you have to pay customs on top of the products (YAY TO FREE SHIPPING!) Use to hate liquid highlighters but if you spray your face with a mist and apply the highlighter while you’re face is still damp it doesn’t affect your foundation, liquid highlights are what I use on daily basic after finding out that little tip!

totally agree about cream contour! i have never personally done it myself because i just don’t see the point - like you mentioned, it sorta blends away into nothing! and my makeup routine is already long enough, i don’t need another step! lol. and most people end up going in with a powder contour/bronzer anyway after they cream contour so what’s the point?? save the 5-10 minutes and just do powder contour! same goes for liquid highlighter tbh. unnecessary steps!

The custom enhancer drops by cover fx are amazing! At first I had the same problem but then I figured out how to use them properly. Use them before you power and DO NOT PUT THEM DIRECTLY ONTO YOUR SKIN! First put it on your hand and then use your finger to tap it in to your hand first to ‘warm up the product’ and then onto your face, it is best to not put loads at once and build up a couple layers. I wouldn’t recommend using them with a foundation that sets or dries quickly. But they are totally worth it! Especially if you pair it with a powder highlighter on top, truly blinding!
