Wow, this Puerto Rican star is definitely looking like the next Chocolatito or Ioka, no doubt about it. It’s tough, though, seeing how far Thai boxing has fallen-ever since Rungvisai lost to Estrada in 2019, there hasn’t been a single world champ from Thailand, which is crazy considering how they used to dominate the smaller divisions. Even Thai amateur fighters have been struggling to win Olympic medals ever since the scoring system changed. Back in the day, Thailand, Japan, and the Philippines ran the small divisions, but now it’s really just the Japanese and Latino fighters keeping things alive. That said, people need to give Knockout CPF his props-this guy defended his title 12 times, stayed undefeated for 8 years straight, and only started slipping now that he’s past his prime. He won his belt young and held it down like a real champ for so long.

If Oscar Collazo gets past his WBA mandatory, Hasanboy Dusmatov (2X Gold Olympian), he’ll easily go undisputed at minimumweight as Melvin Jerusalem and Pedro Taduran are big underdogs against Collazo. Maybe Yudai Shigeoka or Ginjiro Shigeoka are able to get a rematch and win back the title, but Collazo is easily the number one guy.

He’s not just gonna be the first undisputed minimumweight champion-he’s probably gonna be an even better version of Chocolatito and Ioka. Definitely a pound-for-pound star in the making! This whole vibe reminds me of when Bam came through and knocked out Cuadras and Rungvisai. Honestly, if Rungvisai hadn’t pulled out from that fight, the flyweight division wouldn’t have been nearly as exciting, especially since most of the guys at 112 and 115 these days are in pretty bad shape.

@@alexne74I think 112 is still a pretty solid weight class right now. Seigo Yuri Akui, WBA Champ, Angel Ayala, IBF Champ, and Anthony Oluscuaga, WBO Champ, are pretty good champions for the weight class. Kenshiro Teraji is a top 15-10 P4P fighter, WBC Champion. There are solid contenders like Sunny Edwards and Hiroto Kyoguchi and I think Nontshinga will move up from 108 too.
