Amatuers are completly diffrent to pros in the sense of keeping the fighter safe and making sure no unnecessary punishment is given.. i agree in the pro ranks that would be a disgrace of a stoppage but i think a good fair stoppage for the amatuers concidering the manner he went down first time round. Good fight!

Amateurs fight so often too, if a fighter is suffering he'll be out with a medical suspension for a long time.

McCormacks judgement of range was spot on from the start and that check left hook was there for him all night long.

When my father - Viktor Demyanenko fought in the finals of 1979 European Championship which was held in Germany, his opponent fought dirty and made two serious cuts with the headbutts on the Viktors eyebrow. All the people who was watching that fight thought that the contest will be stopped by the doctors, but in the last round, Viktor sent his foe in the knockdowns several times with barrage of punches and became the Gold medalist of that European tournament. This fight is still considered as one of the greatest in the amateur boxing history. I hope that one day, boxing fans will be able to see video of this historic battle!

As soft a stoppage as I have even seen and he wasn't even hurt or in trouble. Their legs clashed as the fighter who was stopped was looking to use his footwork to move out of range and so lost his balance a little, then the referee was far too premature in ending the fight, as if he was on wobbly legs through being hurt when that really wasn't the case here.

Don't get me wrong I'm proud that the gb fighter won but that ref is a wet wipe stopping the fight like that. Honestly desicions like this prevents the sport from progressing in my opinion. Great first knock down but it looked like the force knocked him down rather than stumbling him. Notice how he jumps back to his feet and is completely with it. When the fight was stopped, he was in no real trouble. He bounced off the ropes... That's about all I saw. Shocking to be honest.

If this was the pro ranks I would agree but at amateur that’s a good stoppage nothing left to prove losing all rounds knocked down twice in the last. It was the right call.

yes ben,a wet wipe he could be so he can stop a fight asap after giving in to the health and safety brigade too much maybe, i think azerbajan boxer mostly went down because he'd made himself dizzy too much going around in circles on bambi legs slightly, pat should have let his fists go more with four straight shots to the chin and lots of them,then moving the head side to side and circleing👍🥊🥊

Damn this guy looks good, definitely a talent for the future. He will become the real deal if they put him in the deep end instead of carefully giving him tomato cans and giving him home comforts, while in the pro ranks and then get his weaknesses exposed on the highest level. Do what the Americans do and put them in with tough competitors from the get go, its the only way to find out both for those and the fighter to see if they really have that special thing inside

@@Maartun because a TKO is the same as a KO. When a boxer wins by TKO it’s on their record as a KO victory. That’s how it’s always been. When Anthony Joshua beat Klitschko it was a referee stoppage, that still goes on his record as a KO victory. Same goes for Fury beating Wilder.
